It says a lot about Dave that as a new artist making his first appearance at the brits he chose this song and added the third verse. On his second appearance he did "in the fire" which has 4 features who all appeared live with him so he shared his spotlight with 4 underappreciated uk rappers. He's a real one.

The white guy on piano is Fraser T. Smith, a famous UK producer for urban music, he worked with Stormzy, Dave , Ghetts, Adele and more. Lovely review. This track should become a part of school curriculum. IMO, It is the best hip hop track ever. Plus that is how you drop the mic 😁

I was both proud and horrified when, a few months after this aired, George Floyd's murder resulted in protests worldwide. I was proud to see many of my friends and acquaintances stand up and speak up in defense of minority rights. I still cannot understand how many people proudly and loudly voiced their racist views. I mean why? We may look different. speak and eat differently, but show me a 4 year old girl from anywhere who doesn't want to be a princess! Our dreams are the same. Our hearts are the same. Our opportunities should sure as shit be the same.

As a first-time watcher, can I please give some advice. First of all, ya'lls commentary is golden, change nothing there. That being said, I think you missed a lot of the lyrics in this song by not going back a little everytime you heard something notable to you (which is why we're here in the first place). 10:43 not-so-fun fact but when slavery was abolished in the UK the government did pay reparations… for the slave traders. it was basically a bribe to make them stop and apparently until 2015 tax payers were still paying it back. since i learned that i’ve always thought it was insane that the actual people affected weren’t compensated in any way and yet i see people patting the uk on the back for the abolition. it’s obviously still good that it happened but that bit just leaves a sour taste in my mouth thinking what that enormous sum of money that was being paid out for over 200 years could’ve been used for if given to the correct people

The problem with reparations is the wrong people will be targeted. Back in 1807 Queen Victoria passed the Abolition of Slavery. The British tax payer paid off the slavers, freeing a huge number of slaves. A debt that only just got settled in around 2015 (roughly). The problem was the money went to businesses, slavers and elite families (the Lords of the time) who had an interest. They deserved jail, but was given a fortune. Today, reparations should be paid by any family or business in any nation who profited from the slave trade. From the British Royal family to the King of Benin. There are many businesses still in operation that earned a fortune. As to what Dave mentioned, equality is a birth right that has been stolen by the elite. Will it change? I hope so, but we must stop electing clowns to shut down the circus.

First thing first slavery is bad but before the African slave trade their was a white slave trade done by the vikings on anglo saxons i.e. white british people and that slave trade set white Britain back a lot but advanced the Scandinavians loads does that mean that all British people can claim reparations and claim the reasons we suffering is down to being taken as slaves by them and we only struggling because we wasvtaken as slaves it the ssme time period 200 years ago it was black slave trade but 400 years zgo it was white slave trade to ghe point america went to war with arab states because they was taking white slaves but i never heard a cry for money from white slave descendents why? Yes therevwas more white slaves tsken by barberry pirates then the whole african slave trade also it wasnt white people selling other white people into slavery but research african slave trade their was whole empires that made thier money from selling other black people into slavery to the point that they put the fact that they would only sign peace and trade treties if the European countries would agree to them selling black slaves to them because thats how they made money they went to war with other black tribes to take captives and sell them to white people but that history kinda forgotten just read true history yes white people might have encouraged it but african countries been doing it for centuries before we came there ssme as white been selling white slaves for centuries before we ever got go Africa but that dont suit the victum culture does it facts dont matter
