This is no longer suggested by Horizon. Instead, they suggest you do NOT loosen the belt and instead use a long rubber syringe to insert the lube into the middle of the deck. Otherwise, you run the risk of not tightening properly and misaligning the belt!

You really need to watch how you tighten the belt back . Because if the tension is uneven the belt will pull to one side and wont stay center on the rollers .. I normally just lift he side of the belt up and use a lube bottle with a long tube on the end and apply the oil to avoid that unscrewing step

Got the message last night. Could not find my manual, but found this video. Thanks soooo much for posting this video. Got me up and "RUNNING" again.... ;)

I have purchased one of these treadmills and was surprised to see the message today when I needed a run. I really appreciate you posting this video and being able to easily access the manual in a PDF. Off to purchase some lube to take care of it!
@ekendradasa992511 ай бұрын
I just followed this procedure successfully. If you have the manual, it's the same text, should you want to follow either or both. Being a first time belt lubricator (!) I was initially concerned about the possibility of having the belt become un-centered during the process. Fortunately, the manual explains clearly how to center it again. I followed those straightforward instructions and am happily back on the treadmill.😀

Often a good idea to do this if treadmill has been inactive or in storage. Mine has been stored for a year, has clearly dried up a bit
@Treadmillwarehouse8 жыл бұрын
You should lubricate your treadmill monthly if its by a silicone spray and if you are using a thicker silicone oil then every 3 months. Not using the treadmill could result in parts wrecking. The more you use the treadmill, the longer they tend to last.

I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed by this video! I followed your instructions to the letter. I even counted the amount of turns on the Allan key, just as you said. My belt is ALWAYS pulling to the right now, no matter how many times I’ve tired to centre it. Now I need to call for someone to service it. I’ve looked up videos on how to recentre the belt if it pulls one way or the other. Nothing has worked. Further reading from another source says we shouldn’t loosen enough to lift the belt as it will misaligned the distribution. I should never have lifted the belt as much as you demonstrated.

@duffyfj3 жыл бұрын
I'm in the Middle of researhing this, and what I have come across is NOT to use WD40 on the belt, it can be used on fitting nuts and bolts, but silicone or wax on the belt
@comlbbeau2 жыл бұрын
From information I've been able to glean, use the silicone product designed for treadmill belts. Even aerosol silicone spray is too diluted to provide necessary lubrication, apparently.

It will give you a message when it needs it. I just lubricated mine as I haven't used it in a long time.
@taylah12183 жыл бұрын
Yes the unit tells you- however it's not always extremely accurate. It in theory comes up with the message at 150 miles or 5 miles, depending on the type of re-set you do. So what do I mean by "not accurate"?.... If you don't "save" your workouts (if you just walk off pull the key out when done with a workout/ don't let it get to the workout stats screen- it won't log how many you've truly gone in a workout- ie like most folks just go in "manual mode" for say 30 min and go til they are tired- and don't complete a program just shut unit down) So to save workouts moving forward- to make sure the maintenance message is accurate... hit STOP once to save, then press and hold STOP for 3 seconds- this will log your miles into the unit. So you only want rely on message if saving workouts. The more often the better. The message only comes up when it thinks you have gone 150 miles- so every 3 months OR 150 miles whichever comes first for you personally- is a better rule of thumb. Unit can't tell how well it's lubed/if it's needing- just goes off the mileage that's been logged into it.

The trick is to turn that hex nut on one side or the other.
@comlbbeau2 жыл бұрын
Using the hex wrench, in increments of 1/4 turn tighten the belt adjuster on the side the belt is favoring. In this case, turn the left adjuster 1/4 turn. Repeat if necessary.

get it lined up in hole- then use wrench to "get it going" it can be a bit clunky to get going in the threads if you took them completely out-but once u get spinning- not too bad... or- bolts stripped? get new bolts?
