The name Victoria Falls will be removed as soon as Zambia and Zimbabwe get to it. There is simply no reason for it. We would be better off calling Winnie Mandela Falls, Nzinga Falls, Fidel Castro Falls, Yuri Brezhnev Falls, leave it as Musi O Tunya Falls, or use its original name, Shungu Namutitima. The worst name for our falls is Victoria Falls. Sad and disgraceful that we have not fixed this

Ah i loved this video. Omw we were blessed to drive through Zimbabwe many years ago. We did all the tourist stops and even got to river raft down the Zambezi. We stayed in all the Government parks and were treated so well by the beautiful Zimbabweans. We did the Motopos, Hwange Park, Vic Falls and Caught Tiger fish on lake Kariba. Stayed in lodges where the animals walked in front of your door and Elephants grazed a few meters from your barbeque. Zimbabwe is truly a special place. One of my best holidays ever. We went in summer and the heat was hectic but the bush was green and lush. So loved seeing how emotional you both were looking and experiencing the falls. It really is mind blowing. @@therefineryzim9273 Yes, at most it can be said Livingstone was one of the first Westerners who saw the Victoria Waterfalls and named it. He married one of Robert and Mary Moffat's daughters, also named Mary. Robert Moffat was a missionary of the London Mission Society in Kuruman. I grew up attending the church with my parents. ( It is situated in Kuruman in the Northern Cape South Africa.) Livingstone worked for the National Geographic Magazine and they sponsored all his travels. He towed poor Mary Moffat Livingston to all the godforsaken places on earth. She did not have a strong constitution and succumbed somewhere in the wilderness.

As one married to a Shona man from Vic Falls, I can attest from living there with them, the people in Zim are just the kindest of anywhere I've traveled. This video makes me miss Zim so much & I just hope one day despite the pot holed road & busy cities, we can move back there. There's so much to see & do there with elephant herds, lots of croc & hippos & cape buffalo & wart hogs & all kinds of things right there in the bush. Safe travels & thank you for the video. And I just loved your kind care free attitude. Just beautiful. (I commiserated with the road conditions. We got a flat in our rental car driving from Vic Falls to Bulawayo when I hit a pot hole much faster than I should have been driving.) This way Zim doesn't need state patrol. The road dictates slow driving. 😉

Yes, their English is impeccable, that's why people from Zim get jobs in the tourist industry in South Africa. It's very pricey, with the USD. You drove by Hwange, one of the truly wildest parks in Africa. Vic Falls, our first trip to Africa, we got soaked. A few years ago, we went back and saw it in the dry season. I must say that the South African, Swazi, Zimbabwean and Moz people are so friendly, that has never changed. Zimbabwe turned from a very economical successful country to a poverty stricken country with hardly any upkeep of infra structure….. yes and Mamma is not to say you are old, it is just respect and so nice.

Vic Falls is truly a wonder of the world. I walked those paths in 1989 and was just as amazed. Was a lot cheaper in those days, if not free. A boat trip on the Zambezi is recommended.

The railway line you crossed on the Hawange National Park road, was the longest straight railway line in the World. 40 minutes before the steam trains arrival at Dett Station you could see its light. The dry seed of that food is sucked till you have only the brown pip left.

It's 31 years since I visited Zimbabwe, went over to spend some time with my classmates after we graduated from University in Edinburgh. The people were so warm and friendly. Back then, you could take the sleeper train from Bulawayo to Vic Falls, it was only £7 each way in first class! Brilliant times and experiences.

@@ceumota5697 they are not bush babies. They are Rock Hyrax. Bush babies are completely different. Bush babies are small primates with large eyes, long tails, and strong hind legs for leaping. They are nocturnal and known for their agility in trees. In contrast, rock hyraxes are small, terrestrial mammals with short limbs and stout bodies, closely related to elephants, and they are typically found on rocky terrains.

Keep the roof and windows of Trudy closed as snakes could enter. A snake can follow the scent of a squirrel. Don't share information such as having a stash of dollars as it will make you a target. Super content. The infrastructure in Africa can be challenging to say the least. Road maintenance is not high on priority. The nature and sun makes up for the inconvenience.
