We would be better off calling Winnie Mandela Falls, Nzinga Falls, Fidel Castro Falls, Yuri Brezhnev Falls, leave it as Musi O Tunya Falls, or use its original name, Shungu Namutitima. We stayed in all the Government parks and were treated so well by the beautiful Zimbabweans. We did the Motopos, Hwange Park, Vic Falls and Caught Tiger fish on lake Kariba. Stayed in lodges where the animals walked in front of your door and Elephants grazed a few meters from your barbeque. Zimbabwe is truly a special place. One of my best holidays ever. ( It is situated in Kuruman in the Northern Cape South Africa.) Livingstone worked for the National Geographic Magazine and they sponsored all his travels. This video makes me miss Zim so much & I just hope one day despite the pot holed road & busy cities, we can move back there. There's so much to see & do there with elephant herds, lots of croc & hippos & cape buffalo & wart hogs & all kinds of things right there in the bush. Safe travels & thank you for the video. And I just loved your kind care free attitude. Just beautiful. (I commiserated with the road conditions. We got a flat in our rental car driving from Vic Falls to Bulawayo when I hit a pot hole much faster than I should have been driving.) This way Zim doesn't need state patrol. Trudy is doing good 🤩. On another note, I can see that the Honda Jazz/FIT is the toughest little car in the world. They are everywhere. 😍

It's 31 years since I visited Zimbabwe, went over to spend some time with my classmates after we graduated from University in Edinburgh. The people were so warm and friendly. Back then, you could take the sleeper train from Bulawayo to Vic Falls, it was only £7 each way in first class! Brilliant times and experiences.

The little animal is a Rock Hyrax or locally known as a Dassie. Believe it or not. based on bone structure the closest relation is an Elephant.

Got lots of them in our street in Westville KZN.

Not a Rock Hyrax but a Bush Hyrax. Conspicuous white patch above the eyes (eyebrows).

Bush babies...i know them as.
@marketingwizdom5 ай бұрын
@@ceumota5697 they are not bush babies. They are Rock Hyrax. Bush babies are completely different. Bush babies are small primates with large eyes, long tails, and strong hind legs for leaping. They are nocturnal and known for their agility in trees. In contrast, rock hyraxes are small, terrestrial mammals with short limbs and stout bodies, closely related to elephants, and they are typically found on rocky terrains.

I'm so so glad that I first saw the Vic Falls in 1979 and we were the only 3 people there!!!! Razor wire instead of wooden fence and no charge

After 50 years, everything seems so familiar except that the roads were smooth then, and the entrance to the Victoria Falls was free.......

Keep the roof and windows of Trudy closed as snakes could enter. A snake can follow the scent of a squirrel. Don't share information such as having a stash of dollars as it will make you a target. Super content. The infrastructure in Africa can be challenging to say the least. Road maintenance is not high on priority. The nature and sun makes up for the inconvenience.

Thank you for bringing us with you on your trip. I got very homesick and teary-eyed watching this episode. Was born and raised in Rhodesia and left Zims in '83. It still is such a magic country, even after all these years.

If you see how they are fixing roads in Harare you will be buffled at why they are not fixing the main road from Beitbridge to Victoria Falls.

It is the Chinese fixing only the roads leading to their mines, factories and landing strips.

You can ask that question again. Just imagine the main road connecting Zimbabwe and South Africa is such embarrassingly bad.

It’s because the ones in the government don’t use those roads 🤷🏽♂️
