Steve seems like such a nice guy and I am so happy for the both of you to have met. It is such a feel good story and how fun that you, Steve, and Heather can all spend some time together. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Two brothers wearing the same smile and chuckle. Sister Heather has a handful in brothers. So exciting and nice seeing siblings united. Adults back in the day went about things wrong. Took 26 years to meet my big sister, we love each other and still get upset that our parent's kept secrets that kept us apart.

Same here. I heard about my half-siblings with my dad's 2nd marriage from my grandma when my siblings were teenagers, but they didn't find out me until my dad was dying of cancer, 20 ys later, he finally told them. We all met that year (2 ys before Dad died) and my husband noticed our family "ticks" almost immediately. My niece loved having a "bonus Auntie".

Alex all I could think after watching you and you brothers sit down talking about meeting each other was how very proud your dad would be of you! You carrying on the memories he would have shared with both Steve and Heather literally made me cry. You keep showing us what an exceptional man you are. Your parents did some things very right in raising you I am sorry that your siblings didn't get to meet their dad however they really got great addition with you. God bless you all in the years to come.

Hi Alexander! My husband and I lived in the metro Denver area for ten years and went many times to visit the Brass Armadillo! We are now back in St Albert, but loved sauntering through all the aisles at not just the Armadillo but many other antique shops as well. This brought back many happy memories…thanks for sharing! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Colorado and look forward to the next adventure when you get back home 😁🥰

You’re right about the Featherweight’s. My mom was an avid seamstress and quilter, and when we held her estate sale, we found she had 7 of them. My sister and I each kept one, and the rest were sold in a bidding war of sorts, between 3 different collectors attending the sale. They sold for $2100! I was stunned!

Nice antique mall. You can tell right at the start that Steven was in his element :) I have an old Featherweight in it's original case and in excellent condition. I rarely take it out, but it works great.

Had to laugh when you described how small the first t.v. screens were. I have a huge flat screen in this room but I am watching you on my iPad screen which is comparable to that 1949 t.v. I also use the iPad to watch the few t.v. shows and movies that interest me while the three big flat screens in this house barely get used. In fact, I may have the cable turned off permanently one of these days. 🤣 Also, happy to see that Singer Featherweight (poor condition) going for $450 because I started collecting them in 1985 and have 13. I paid $69 for the first one and $200 at most. My retirement account.

I go there all the time, as I collect cabinet card photos and holiday early 1900’s postcards between relatives. I then research for a descendant and pass it on to get it back into the family. Love The Brass Armidillo! Love Steve’s Moe’s t-shirt.
@calib86482 жыл бұрын
I’ve thought about doing the same with mine except maybe they ended up for sale somewhere because the family didn’t want them
@karencaddle72882 жыл бұрын
@@calib8648 I used to worry about that, but it has never happened. I have had people that I have contacted through Ancestry that have declined because they are too far removed a descendant, but I appreciate them as I have always found someone after that is thrilled to receive it.

Ha! I've watched quite a few of your videos, skipping around year to year. I knew that you collected toy cars. Then you said that you collect Corgis. 🐕 Well, not knowing anything about toy cars, I was picturing you with little toy dogs. 🤣 That picture didn't fit with what I've learned of you via the videos. I'm so glad that you showed the "Corgi" that you bought at the end of the video, reaffirming my prior impression of you. It did give me a laugh.

Only in Canada. @5:49 I would love one of those machines. I don’t see a lot but for little simple jobs those machines are great!! @8:45 The Folk Art fountain would be perfect for a backyard that birds like to visit. Love the uniqueness of it. WOW!!! What a place for finding treasures. I’m still trying to find out what my cousin has at his house as far as Hot Wheels goes. You’d love to go through his house and his garage and 3 other places on his property. They’re not big but he certainly has a lot of antiques!! Thanks for taking us on your trip. Doing things with your brother, and having so much in common is a wonderful thing. ❤️ My sister and I started selling online about a month ago. It's slowly getting better on sales We source many different places. Yard sales, curbside and our favorite is dumpsters!!! It's mind boggling that someone will throw something away that's old when they can get 100.00 + for it. Also they are throwing away history. I love ❤️ to find old things and get them to someone who appreciates them.

My parents had that model of TV. While it had 13 channels…we never got that many. We had to use rabbit ears in the old days. I remember getting channels 2,4,7 and if lucky 11. A few years later, we moved and got channel 13…a whopping big deal! To go from radio to TV was crazy. Funny thing, I wished we, as a society would go back to simpler times, gather round the radio and listen to Orson Wells. Great memories.
