Look, if you're lacking key units (like any Pilgrims) and you have the time and resources to get her favored item, Laplace is an incredible DPS and source of CP padding. Because she's in the body shop, she's easy to upgrade, Missilis attack gear isn't incredibly rare, she's best on auto, iron code rocket launchers is always nice to have, her burst slaps, she's a B3 so you're not struggling to find a spot for her, and she does decent damage. However, as sky said, she has shortcomings that only become apparent *once those key units become available to you*. First and foremost is that she's just selfish: she gives nothing back to the party, which makes it very easy to swap her out for someone who does. She's like the best placeholder unit in the game: Harran is awesome until you get Ein; Guillotine is awesome until you get Modernia; Volume is awesome until you get Liter.

Bro said she sucks cause of red hood, snow white and bunny soda. I wouldn't say that she suck but just an OK dps even with the saturated iron code. With the treasure she turns into a Good iron DPS. I would never swap Laplace for julia, sugar, maxwell and SURE AS HELL not soline in an iron weak boss.

I actually enjoy Laplace a lot because I am not heavily invested in Maxwell or Snow White. Really fun for Union Raid or Simulation Overclock (currently Iron Advantage). Before treasure, the burst felt so bad because of the duration but now its quite fun blasting for 10 seconds.

Well another factor is the Laplace has 3 nasty dps bugs they still haven't fixed...So I think she would be much better but those bugs is what's pulling her down.

I feel like Laplace is really useful in PVP and pushing Missilis Tower with her treasure. Her inability to cover during ult does make her a hassle in bosses at times.

True Damage is such a half baked mechanic TBH. Whoever is in charge of coming up with skills at ShiftUp must have ADHD or something. They hyper focus a character's kit on one specific niche thing, and we all assume that there must be characters coming in the future that will make this hyper niche kit make more sense, and then the developer gets distracted by the next shiny thing. Fast forward a year, and we'll finally get another character that makes the first character not complete garbage, and then the cycle repeats. See also: the shotgun team.

It's perfectly fine for treasure system to NOT make the unit SSS or meta. We are thinking about from a whales perspective or maybe a day-1 dolphin... We have all the units to use. For someone that started late or wasn't blessed to get the other good iron DPS units, Laplace with treasure could be a God-send. It's all relative of course, and sky is rating them that way. I understand, but from an individual player's perspective sucks/not sucks is a bit more complicated.

I don't know how LaPlace sucks" I've effectively replaced Modernia outside of Pilgrim Tower. Having LaPlace (with treasure) pushed me through mostly all content, including final story chapter, mirror container high deficit, and simulation room overclocked. There is one caveat I do however use Redhood and Crown to excessively raise her damage output so that definitely is a factor.

it makes perfect sense because there are only x amount of teams you can run. against iron weak boss without respawning parts bunny soda already does better dps on sg meta team. crown team with rh, sbs+alice team, maxwelll team, sw team is already 5 teams all with higher dps than slotting treasure laplace unless respawning parts. even if laplace is slotted, it will be on a 5th team only when ele advantage. the reason drunk scarlet dropped down in ranking is because sbs, rh, and ein exists and outperform her. treasure laplace is basically drunk scarlet dmg for iron. alrdy borderline/dropped out of rotation at that dps power level. so some minor relevance on a low-tier raid team only on elemental advantage raids (and only if respawning parts). basically sounds like an emilia or a2, barely relevant on their own elemental advantage raids and only if right type of boss. that is definition of meh/mid/niche status... low priority.

@@djow4725 I don't disagree. The fact remains though, that on somewhat newer accounts like mine, who don't have RH or SBS per se, Laplace is a huge addition. I don't think there being better units should diminish Laplace's own capabilities; she by no means suck. Then again, this might just be copium because Laplace ate all my maintenance kits :)

@@Antiquarian1 I agree with that. To add on, I don't have the mats and the motivation to build other units. Laplace might suck for top tier players but for casuals she's pretty good and flexible in contents and teams you could put her in. Another bonus is that Laplace isn't a pilgrim, so you can wishlist her and get her more easily than hoping to get spooked by a top tier pilgrim. It's more feasible to aim to get her if you don't have her and get more dupes if you have her.

@@Antiquarian1 the thing is that treasure laplace is not even really a placeholder story unit... just raiding. so doesn't really change story progression. if you are a new account, you would go further with SR15 universal meta raid DPS units for rankings than treasure laplace. she can be used in pvp as burst filler. 5th fastest RL (after jackal/anis/centi/emilia). faster than a2.

@@Antiquarian1 That's not relevant of the unit strength if you personally have other unit or not, he is speaking for end game content so if you are new you won't do it competitively anyway and if you don't have the other unit then you have no choice , you have a limited amount of character you can bring to solo raid and if you have to choose in an iron weak solo raid, then laplace isn't a first choice even with treasure simply because other dps will be better than her .

Viper Favorite Item user here. While I'm not the data guy u might expect, I just wanna say that in PVE she might be the only usable defense down debuffer Nikke, which quite rare. She does well too in PVP, since she is one of the top burst gauge generator. I did tried doing Anomaly Kraken with her in a comp - Liter, Viper, SSakura, ScaretBS, Crown, I said she is on par with Liter, ScarletBS, SSakura, Crown, Naga comp on anomaly kraken. I might update on this again later on. Update: I said both comp are on par cause my stupid ass forgot to mention my viper is still lacking OL armguard (still using other manufactur level 5) and her skill is still 10/8/9 (optimal for kraken is 10/whatever/10), also for comparison my Naga skilset is already 10/10/8 (optimal for kraken is 10/10/whatever) Both comp currently managed to deal 2.7B - 2.8B damage

Don't worry, she's still useful for pushing Missilis tower. If you missed getting Ein, chances are you're going to stuck with Laplace in tower for a while.

So besides having low-no, team synergy; Laplace's main downside being that she has to compete with the heavily stacked/cracked meta Iron units? That's pretty good. Especially if your SW and/or B.Soda aren't invested. But if have a RH or Maxwell who is collection-less and/or un-invested, And you invest Laplace over them?....Stop it...get some help.

Usually, with systems like this, the first few batches of units tend to be slightly stronger or underwhelming. After maybe a year or so, the newer batches get way stronger buffs. This has happened in most gachas I've played, and Nikke is tracking the same.

I really liked Viper with my bunnies, I ran that for my shotgun team, and she was performing at the same level as my Noir that was pretty invested in. My Shotgun team in the last solo raid I believe was: Tove, Viper, Blanc, Noir, & Drake. It was a comfortable and pretty solid comp. As for Laplace I did use her and had some decent results paired with Mari and RH. Finally got Exia's Treasure as well, and trying to invest in her for the electric team. I've got a solid Scarlet, Summer Anis, and I've been rocking them with the school girls. Doro has been the second B1, so I intend to alternate Exia into that spot. I'm a collector through and through, though, so I intend to get all the treasures in time. I've enjoyed the art, screen, if nothing else.

Sky's viewpoint is from solo raid context. Diesel is great if you are try hard dog in pvp. Laplace is good in tower because elysion team sucks.

Well, missilis have a lot of top tier units (Liter, schoolgirl), sadly they don't have many top tier dps (Maxwell isn't as good for tower since most tower contents are not a boss fight)

@@Gink01 well, 60 FPS is affecting MG because they could shoot up to 60 bullet per seconds (basically dictated by you FPS). In my experience, even with Tove buffs, SG is still pretty far from that number. So I don't think 60 FPS will increase the damage by much. It might make it easier to maintain full Tove buff if you pair her with B. Alice since B. Alice is smg.
