I was really curious about the Fury Bee, though I was hoping they'd release it in black. But after seeing this review, I think I'll steer clear of this company.

Conceptually, I like this more, but Fury Bee uses the vinyl plastic which is more forgiving than the plastic theyve used here. Pangu Toys seems to have some great ideas but cuts too many corners for me to be a fan. Sad :(

The factory tooling for these parts seems to be busted. I mean, a lot can be caused or prevented during factory assembly of the toy, but I keep getting the impression that we're looking at almost-decent engineering that is additionally being betrayed by the sort of issues that are supposed to be hammered out in QA with randomly-colored plastic stocks, not in front of a camera. Some of the engineering - like the waist rotation - seems to be actually flawed. _Maybe_ there's an assembly where those parts just squeak by, but I bet if you reassembled and re-pinned the toy to give enough tolerance there, it would end up floppy to the point of not being able to pose well. But, with most of the rest of the figure, it's like they just failed to account for some material expansion property or something and everything is just not fitting well. Either that, or there is some secret ninja transformation technique that involves moving parts to precise positions where they just pass between and around one another like clockwork - and there's no way to show you how to do that via a booklet.

You nailed it. This is exactly how I felt. So so close but not enuf QC or they were aware and just didnt care. Various places now exhibit stress from flexing and I'm sad cuz I really wanted to like this.

I've had a KO Studio 93 Hot Rod (The one snake eye is based on), and it's terrible even for KO standards. The genuine studio 93 Hot Rod is a banger because it has tight tolerances and flexible sturdy parts. I don't even recommend getting a 3rd party or KO of this mould, it just doesn't work because the factory can't manage the QC for it at all. Near perfect QC is something this figure needs the most.

I’m pretty sure that’s Soundwave they based from cause the beast mode is Ravanger. I was very impressed until transformation I haven’t ever seen such a fragile transformer

I usually leave my transformers in robot mode for the most part, so it wouldn’t be a problem for me. I’m actually digging this mold more as Snake Eyes than Hot Rod in my opinion.

It should have been bigger, voyager size or like the cyclonus loki. I think all of its problems are because transformation is complex for the small size of it. I bought it and i love it for looking at it but idk if i ever going to transform it to other than how it came on the box lol

Yeah, I wouldnt have minded it being a tad bigger. But mostly I wish theyd used better plastic. I wish Id kept it in robot mode, then I wouldnt hate it as much XD

I have a ko of this hot rod mold and it was also horrible. Loose joints and pieces and parts flying off. He just sits on my shelf and I never mess with him. The only reason I got the ko was because he was $5 and the official went for $40-$50 at the time.

I absolutely LOVE the hotrod lambo. It took me a few transformations to understand its subtleties (which I do know are annoying). I am totally picking this up. Even with all the negative things you said. A snake eyes “hotrod”? I’ll totally put up with its bullshit. Too bad it’s sold out. Can I buy it off you? LOL Edit- after watching to completion and scrubbing thru it a little, your frustrations are not with Pangu or whatever their name is. It’s 100% the hotrod figure that hasbro made. Just saying I wouldn’t be blaming them for copying it exactly as it is

oh wow! Okay I saw this listed online but the fact it was Snake Eyes completely eluded me! How did I miss that?!?! lol. I also thought it was more legends scale... those pics were misleading for sure. Shame. Yea looks similar to Studio Series Hot Rod. I don't recall him being so darn fiddly tho. Hey at least all the weapons are cool! lol. Very lame transform to cat mode. Looks kinda decent but yea... bending over and adding a cat head does not make a cat. Sadface. Pangu did that 'iron factory' style Loki you reviewed too right? I only have their Omega Supreme, which I think was downscaled DX9 Gabriel. It's pretty good tho, I like that one quite a bit. Seems like their M-O is to steal engineering of a good figure and make it unique to their own passion, which is great in theory, but man... sometimes it's a miss.

If I got this, I'd have a little practice.....I've got the Studio Series Hot Rod, which this seems to be a remold of, but I can tell you this: I'd stick to the vehicle and robot modes exclusively, because that beast mode looks VERY finicky!

I pre-ordered this when it was first announced and was so excited when it finally arrived. Imagine my disappointment when not only was the cat mode a partsformer but the transformation was exactly as painful as you described. It sucks because its a cool looking toy with lots of accessories but it reeks of bad bootleg quality, especially since I went from the APC Toys Red Gladiator to this garbage. I'm frankly just gonna buy the Studio Series Hot Rod and transfer his head and accessories over to him

Well I can't blame just Hasbro. This isn't theirs and it still misses the mark. If I could afford to collect another toy line it would be G.I. Joe so I always want to be excited about the prospective crossovers, but the have all seemed like crap when I see them reviewed, or just look at them. The only one I've even considered is the Soundwave as the Dreadnaught's vehicle (The name escapes me right now. I just got up lol.) I'm sure there has to be a valid reason, but why does it seem so hard to get the TF/JIG crossovers right? 26:00 You are aware that you know someone who speaks Chinese that could help you out? I'll give you a hint. Their name starts with a G and ends in oogle. I try to make it a habit to remember to take advantage of that tool. It's easy to forget about. Thanks for showing this off. IDK which mold that it is either, but it's clearly a Bayverse toy. I stopped buying Bayverse stuff after DoTM but I think you might be right on your guess about the Hotrod mold. Some of the engineering and such is truly amazing, but they just don't translate to good, or fun, toys for me. Just my opinion. I know there are some die hard Bayverse collectors out there, and I thank them for helping keep my favorite property on the shelves. Poorly executed is a good way to describe it. So much forcing, so many rubbing parts past each other. I just don't like them. I've got close to or over 500 TF products now and I've only had a hand full of breakages. A Cybertron toy that I actually ended up fixing, as it wasn't actually broken, but a part fell off and I couldn't get it back in, then a few months later I was messing with it and the part just popped right back into place. (Can't remember the name but they ended up repainting it to be a larger Scattershot as the OG SC was just a scout class.) One of the wings on Prime Dreadwing broke off. (Still hurts ;( ) The wing cracked on Masterpiece Thundercracker and when I returned it they only had Acid Storm so now I have that version of the mold (2nd seeker version) instead of Thundercracker. (I have Skywarp in the 1st seeker version) The rest have all been Bayverse toys. The parts either break off, snap, or crack, or the "mech tech" gears will strip out sure easy and stop working right. I have that big DoTM Prime with the power suit trailer. The first time I tried to transform it, it broke, so I got a new one. Then I gave that new one to a nephew for Christmas and picked another one up a week later on clearance. I've never gotten back around to opening that figure. It's on of my only figures being displayed that's still in the box.

You can't buy a 3rd party Transformer of an original figure that you've never played with to understand how it functions, then complain and brute force your way through when the 3rd party instructions aren't clear enough. 3rd party is generally known for cutting corners, poor marketing, poor quality, etc. When you buy 3rd party, you sign up for a potentially lesser quality. They Bayverse toys had some of the most annoying and complex Transformers, simply due to how much detail they tried to match. Those toys were structurally compromised, just by design and you had to be careful with quite a few of them. But you're handling the same level of engineering, with no knowledge of the functionality, nor clear enough instructions. I can agree that quality and instructions were an issue, but it's also a skill issue on your part.
