As great as this is, all the people who want a live action film really don't understand how much the animation added to this movie.

Nah, this is the one Disney movie that a live action probably wouldn't ruin. Like for most live action remakes they ended up swapping all the magic behind the art with ... Y'know the real world, which can be cool, beautiful but it's by definition real. No fucking way they can do that with treasure planet.

The live action Disney remakes have such bland colors compared to the original. All the beautiful, colorful sceneries in Treasure Planet would probably be insanely dulled down in live action, for some reason. Speed Racer movie didn't do that and it's a cult classic that a lot of people love nowadays, myself included

I see so many people ask for a live action version of Treasure Planet, but I couldn't disagree more. Look what they did to beauty and the best, aladdin, the lion king, dumbo and countless others. They completely BOTCHED their top rated movies, imagine what they'll do to a film Disney considers a "mistake." I pray they keep their grubby live-action hands AWAY from Treasure Planet

i respect your opinion but i feel like the lion king is one of those movies that don't need a live action. like when i watch it, it doesn't feel like it needs one because it just feels out of place. but treasure planet gives me star wars vibes so i could see it working as a live action. because there are a bunch of movies in space and maybe this is just my love for star wars speaking, but i think it would work so well. but it wouldn't because disney would be making it so🤣

Absolutely. I don't want a live action movie of this. One other big reason I have alongside yours is that they would completely destroy what made the story of it great. This is a story of a lost boy with no father figure finding one, dealing with betrayal and tragedy, and coming out of it a man. Knowing what disney's been doing story wise they would flip it on its head and instead he needs to get in touch with his feminine side and something about being a sexist man.

Live action remakes have been souless cashgrabs so far. Making the exact same movie again but with a heave tone of sociopolitical agenda that makes it pretty much unwatchable campared to the often times timeless classic they're based on

While the execution of basically every Disney live action remake has been a colossal train wreck, conceptually, this movie would be amazing to remake. Introducing this mostly forgotten piece of Disney's history to a modern audience would be a breath of fresh air compared to what they're doing now. It would also get lots of people who may not have seen the original film to watch it, finally giving it the mainstream recognition it deserves. Not to mention, if done right, it could serve as the catalyst for future projects to explore this amazing world even more, which I would love to see.

It's a bit choppy and definitely could use some more polish with shading and Jim's body movements. Otherwise this is awesome and I love some of the embellishments like the canyon save being a bit more populated with the buildings and walkways. Awesome recreation!

This is awesome. I wouldn't mind a "realistic" animated version of the original, similar to the Final Fantasy movies. Live action would just feel too uncanny valley but you've nailed how this style works I'd love to see how this would look for the escaping Treasure Planet scene. A lot of work but damn would it be glorious. What did you use for modelling and animations?
