actually slurping is a way of showing that you enjoy your food in Japan, so it's a cultural thing! particularly for ramen, it also enables you to take in soup together with the noodles, enhancing the flavour 👌🏻

Actually in Korea, there is a custom about slurping. It's believed that the louder you slurp, the more respectful you are. Idk if this is inaccurate but I read this a few years ago. So most people slurp their noodles loud rather than in the west where people usually don't slurp. I believe it's the same in Japan too
