i really like Hold it in, because suk created it after treasure box and his verse really hit me. despite the hardships im so proud that he pursued what he wants. to more treasure comebacks

I also think that “Thank you” sounds like an anime song. Anyway, the lyrics was made by Haru and Sahi, which are actually Japanese wahahahaha. It was also composed and arranged by Asahi (together with DEEP) that’s probably whyyyy

they just get better and better !! every time they put out new music, they're striving to outdo their last. they work so hard! and i'm so grateful YGE is giving them freedom to be creative because THIS is what happens when artists release music made by them, music that they love!

A teume asked Asahi's thought about farewell, he said : A new encounter. We need to say goodbye so we can meet something/someone again. Of course not everyone will experience it, but breaking up isn’t always a bad thing. You’ll find something/someone new (because of farewell). The fact that this 21y.o man said literally show how mature he is.. He even said he is enjoying this kind of conversation. No wonder he can make happy yet sad song aka Thank You.. How to not love him lol.

Trivia: During weverse live by hyunsuk , VOLKNO & HOLD IT IN, was a solo song for Hyunsuk, it was approved by the YG producers & management but then he was so pity that he will do it alone so he decided to rewrite the VOLKNO and want to do it with the rapper line. it's the way hyunsuk can just save hold it in and volkno for his solo but he thought it'll be good to sing it with his members, he's very selfless. he really want what's the best for the group. Our Uri Leader hyunsuk 🔥🥺 Instead, He was gifted by the YG a bigger studio now,, they gave him a reward for working hard. He recently moved to his new bigger studio as per jaehyuk it was like a museum. I guess we will expect more about his marvels collection in his own and bigger studio

VolKno is also my favorite. As a YG stan im happy with all the YG references - 1TYM (Teddy Park's group) Mobb (Bobby and Mino), GD, Taeyang, and also some lines from other YG artists songs and albums were mentioned. Also they said New Vibe - thats YG's slogan - Vibe the New Flow - and the style of music is like SeoTaiji and the Boys (where the former executive director of YG - Yang Hyunsuk came from) And also because before I dive into k-pop I am a huge metal head.

Deep lyrics, beautiful melodies, and proper division of parts for each members is Asahi's writing style, I guess. On Clap!, he gave the vocal line (esp Jaehyuk) heaps of time to shine. And Orange's line distribution is one of the most fair among their songs.

I've said this before, but YG is low-key a rock label hidden behind hip-hop. lol almost every YG artist has a few rock tracks in their discography. Personally, I would've loved a Bobby ft on VolKno. Hold It In is one of my favorite TREASURE B-sides but I agree. the Melody was so pretty, the "na na na"s would've been so much better with lyrics.

Thank you is my fav. I love how Ruto and Sahi used contrast of upbeat music and sad lyrics. In my opinion, The upbeat represents the person in the song acts energetic/ fine while lyrics represent his sadness inside. The person acts “upbeat” to make his loved one feels less guilty leaving him coz he still love that person. This year YG comes up with Retro/ bring back old time theme in every groups. I guessed Asahi and Ruto also got agenda from YG for bringing back old time. ( if you notice, this album has all songs bringing you back some old time: heavy metal, reggae, old school Jrock, etc) I think that’s why Asahi made it sounds like anime here and it’s anime from perhaps 10years ago already. He also once said he wanna make music where Kpop meets Jpop. If you are also a fan of Jrock either main stream, underground or club bands, you will notice it straight away that some chords he used is the popular chords during those time mostly use in song to represent Shonen power or the power of youngster meaning energetic as teen to dream or drive to their dream. ( it’s a thing in JP at that time about burning/ sparking teen energy, etc. I was still living in Japan at that time too) So using these chords answers the bringing back old time agenda and also accents the person in the song as youngster who ready to go toward his dream on different path from the person he loves Sahi put layer on another layer into the song and I love it. I didn’t expect these 2 to be at that level. 👍🏼💖✨

YG References on VolKno: 1TYM - Teddy, Blackpink’s Producer Mobb- Mino and Bobby Sun, Dragon, Goodboy - GD & Taeyang I think it’s similar but it’s different - Lisa’s first line from Pretty Savage (Haruto specifically mentioned about his rap with Blackpink reference) New Kids - Ikon Hangover- I think Bigbang Other references: Three idiots movie Trio, No way home - Spiderman No way home trio 4th Gen being proud of their sunbaes 😭💙 YG FAMILY FAMILY 😍 Also, these boys are beyond talented 😭🔥
