Interesting, thank you I have been looking at getting the Montolit Glass & Porcelain Tile Nippers. Can you advise if these are as easy on the hand as these are? I like the idea that they are a two in one for materials as it gets exy to buy two pair. Also the way you hold these Breda nippers is different than other glass nippers I think? The wrist can get very sore if holding any nippers incorrectly. What is the best angle to hold these? Thank you for taking the time to show this brand.

Thankyou. Whenever you buy any tools its really dependent on the individual if they are suitable or not, it makes it hard if you cannot try them out before you buy them. I have never used the Montolit but there is KZbin video on them by Montolit. Sometimes there is an advantage to having two separate pairs of different brands, that way one can be used for softer materials like glass and the other pair can be used for harder materials especially if they are specific to the tess. I hold the nippers in the most comfortable position so I'm not adding strain to my arm or wrist, generally so the arm is at a right angle however this may not feel comfortable for you and depending on the type of nipper I am using, you are right the Breda nippers are defiantly different to the standard double wheeled nippers out there and I do hold those a little different. :)

I am using my Breda nippers for the first time and cannot seem to get a straight cut. Even when doing a simple cut such as cutting a square in half I get a slight curve instead of a straight cut. Can you give me any advise? Thank you.

I haven't come across a pair of double wheeled nippers that will do a straight cut everytime. It will depend on the size of the glass you are cutting and how you hold the nippers and how you hold and support the tess in the wheels of the nippers as you are making the cut. Holding the tess firmly and not allowing the tess to move in the nipper wheels as you are cutting can help solve the issue. Also there are different types of glass some will cut better than others, keep persevering. :)

Have you replaced Breda for your traditional wheel nipper? Can you perform all cuts with precision and ease as traditional one?

No I haven't replaced my Lepponits for the Bredas as the Bredas are only suitable for glass, I find they work accurately for me. :)

No they are only suitable for softer material such as glass up to about 10mm. Breda are designing a pair for harder materials I have no idea when the release of them will be.

Hi Peter, do you know why the Breda glass nippers are out of stock everywhere? Was there a problem with them?
@TreasuryRoad
@TreasuryRoad Жыл бұрын
I just answered this in your other question. The Bredas didn’t have any issue that l was aware of. There were issues with raw materials and they decided to stop producing them. Because these were designed differently for ergonomics some people found it difficult to get used to them but most loved using them. 😊

Why are they discontinued? They were quite good...

I agree they were. I think Candace just moved onto other things. It was quite a task bringing them to market and then to just stop production after the handwork was done was unfortunate. They do occasionally come up for sale second hand in the Facebook mosaic groups. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

Hi Peter, I have Breda nippers and I don't use them because the way the designer holds them, the glass shoots across the room. I cannot seem to get the correct angle to hold them. I NEVER use them and it bothers me. They clip so nicely. Any tips you can give me to hold them will help, I assume.

@@bevturquoise4651 Unfortunately tools are a very personal thing and we generally find our own way as to what works best. When I nip I am usually nipping into a shallow container or hold the nippers on an angle so the shards shoot downward. In some cases I will encompasses the nip with my hand so as the piece stays contained, I am left handed so that may make the nippers look funny in the video as I reversed the handles as they suit left or right handed people. I have had some people say they find them hard to get accustomed too and not wanted to use them and then they have picked them up further down the track and now love them. They do nip beautifully. :)

Hi Terri, the Breda nippers have been sold out for quite sometime. At this point in time they are no longer manufactured. Occasionally a pair will come up for sale 2nd hand. You can purchase the QEP extreme nippers which l love to use. They are very light and pretty easy on the hand. They are comfortable to use and like the Bredas are only suitable for glass.. I have made a video review about them on this channel. Thanks for watching. 😊

Hi Tony, absolutely love all your videos! I have arthritis and I would like to know what kind of nippers you recommend. I’ve thought about the Breda nippers, but here in the U.S I couldn’t find them. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Tony!😀

I would have a look at the QEP extreme nippers and I have created a video review of them. Like the Bredas they are only suitable for glass. :)

After viewing your video, I bought them. They are easier to use. I am finding the nipper tilt to a slight challenge though. I will pursue viewing Q&A on holding them. Thanks!

Thankyou, yes they are great to use but do have a slight learning curve to them, holding the tess firmly and horizontal to the nipper should yield a pretty good straight cut on small pieces. :)

I can’t answer that question it’s a personal question depends on the user but if you can try pair of each before purchasing it would make your decision easier. Thank you for watching. 😊
