Thanks for the video. Would love to have seen how you actually constructed the 2 Lights off to the side. Thats some ingenuity!

Thank you. I need to make new ones that are a bit more stable and easier to work with. Making a video of the process might not be a bad idea at all.

Nice one, simple and easy for beginners. Try it with a giant molossus breed, like the Dogue de Bordeaux :-)

Great video with such lovely dogs. Sub +1 I like the slowmo video as they catch the treats. Can you do a video on the lights, build? they look really interesting. The photos was a bit too fast during the shoot. I liked the set at the end. I'm looking forward to more. Keep it up!

Love this! Tried with a friend's dogs a few weeks ago- but none of them really caught. Going to try again with our doggies. Might take a while to get them catching like yours😍

Hi, thank you. Yes I have also struggled with most dogs we have tried this with. That is why I used my own 2 girls in the video since im used to them and can predict their movements easily. I hope you managed to get some good ones with your own dogs

Fantastic! How do you make them so crisp, whit such a low shutterspeed? You said that you used a slow light and compensate with ISO?
@shuttermuttspetphotography5622 жыл бұрын
Yes, using a lower flash power allows you to capture action. Because the flash is so short it freezes everything in the frame

Great Video, I will have to give it a go, what bracket are you using for your DJI Osmo action camera on the top of your DSLR please?

Thank you!! I have a Hotshoe adaptor for the action camera.

Mate. First can you send your pooches to me in the UK? No! Seriously, what a wonderful short easy, straight to the point video. One thing I like to ask. "What is the platform material you are using and, how high is it"?

Haha, Lara would not make it in the cold!!! Lisa would LOVE the snow : ) For this shoot it was just wood board on some pallets. I normally use something more like a old coffee table or if the dogs dont want to be on something i will set it up on the floor. And then i have a roll of Black/White vinyl that for the background and floor. I have actually changed to the black perspex or plexiglass which allows me to get some reflection in the photos as well
@pellier08 Жыл бұрын
@@shuttermuttspetphotography562 hi can I ask where you bought your black plexiglass you mention in the comment? Thanks
@valeriedepeel4 жыл бұрын
Sweet. it's nice how Laura waits patiently while it is Lisa's turn! I would not have guessed 1/200 (is that right?) is fast enough to capture them.
@KaiMattern4 жыл бұрын
The 1/200 sec itself is not fast enough, but the light in the room is so dim, that the appr. 1/10000 from the flash is actually doing the exposure. And that is fast enough. So if you would make the room dark enough, even 1/50 would be ok. But at that darkness you might run into autofocus trouble.
@shuttermuttspetphotography5622 жыл бұрын
@@KaiMattern To make the room dark im using the aperature, You can see in the video the room is brightly lit with natural light. As long and you have the exposure dark you will capture what is lit by the flash

nice video! Did you have one focus point on your camera setting or several in order to capture the focus? and did you shoot with spot metering? thank you in advance!

Fantastic. Great help. Will try thiis with my dog Jerry 🐶

Hi, no i used multipoint focus to be able to shoot without looking in the viewfinder. I also use Back button Focus to shoot that way. I used average metering, i hardly ever venture into spot metering

Seems so simple... But requires a lot of practice to catch the moment. And when you can do this with your own dog, and want to do the same trick with the client's dog... Well, it is not an instant success story! :D Time consuming - be careful when pricing!
@shuttermuttspetphotography5622 жыл бұрын
Yes, alot of practice!! We have found that not many other breeds do this but have been successful with the ones that do. Once you have the technique it is all up to the dog you are photographing.
