Thank you for saving us a trip to the vet! Our dog came in from outside and we kinda panicked when we realized there was a trail of blood on our floor and then came to find she had split one of her nails somehow. We got her in the bath right away to clean it but she didn’t seem too bothered by it; not even a whimper. Once we got the bleeding to stop my wife ran to petsmart and got some liquid bandaid spray.

Covered everything except if a dog's nail is broken but still attached a little bit. My dog will not let me touch it because it's painful. The moment I try and touch the nail that's still a little bit attached he Yanks is paw back. I've tried waiting a couple days for it to fall off or get better so I can safely remove the broken nail but it's more solid than I thought. I cannot leave it because everytime it touches anything it hurts him. What do I do?

This happened to my dog last summer. The whole nerve was exposed with the nail still attached. I soaked her paw in clorhexidene 2-3 times a day. It healed quickly and she chewed the damaged nail off. We are going through this again. I hope it goes as smoothly as the last time.🤞
