This video is the BEST on helping people to get the dosages correct for this wormier !! Thank you so much for making it simple !! You asked people to post where they can get the Agrilabs Prohibit Soluble Drench Powder at........ Tractor Supply has it if you have one near you ! $21.00

That's great news, it's never occurred to me to look for medications at Tractor Supply. I've pinned the comment, because that's incredibly useful for a load of people, since Tractor Supply seems to move into basically any town with more than 30,000 people in the US.

My fish with Camallanus worms is out of my heavily planted aquarium. There is currently no fish in the tank. Do I need to worry about the worms still being in the tank in egg form or any of the life stages?

So I bought levamisole in a product called Fritz's expell P I have some guppies Pilates mollies and tetras in quarantine for the past 2 weeks or so. The one Molly in particular constantly has long white stringy poop so I treated everyone with paracleanse and gave expel P last night Just in case. I don't see any red worms so if days go by and I see no red worms do you think it's safe to not retreat since I was doing it as a preventative? Also the package says to retreat in one week but I was told to wait two weeks because of the eggs hatching. I'm assuming they say that because the eggs would be in the aquarium and hatch and get eaten but if I don't see any more worms I plan on moving them into the bigger community tank. They are eating and they look healthy so I'm wondering if I can move them over after a few days especially if I don't see any red worms. What are your thoughts?

How late is too late to treat callamanus worms?
@MischiefandFins5 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the fish. Generally, if you see them coming out of the fish, it's probably too late for that fish, but it's not too late for the rest of the tank. Larger fish tend to have better recovery, though, so if you have a larger fish that's by itself, like an oscar or yellowjacket and you see them coming out of the vent but the fish is otherwise healthy, I'd still treat, personally.

This happen to my fishroom im concerned for all my tanks now using some equipment between them. Recieved fish 2 weeks ago that were recovering from being too cold/not eating and had the red strings I got them hand feeding and coloring up and one doesnt have as many brown specks but thought that was just part of the fish when seeing it the first day I googled the anatomy to identify the pairs and saw the same worms I hope I can save my fish not sure how long they had it for if they are already full grown says it takes 30 days to pertrude like that so far my other fish/tanks appear healthy ill have to see in 2 more weeks in meantime find this where I live

I have a betta and 2 cory catfish that i think are infested with worms (not sure which kind) and i dont have the money to buy medicine for them right now. I have several questions: Are there any home remedies i could try other than feeding them garlic and regular water changes? Can snails get infected by worms? Can i starve the parasite larva by taking all my fish out to quarantine and leaving the tank alone?
@111sparkle1115 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this. Couple of questions... Will this damage beneficial bacteria in filters? Also, If we have camallanus red worms visible at the vent of the fish, about how long should it take for them to start to dislodge and be pooped out after dosing this medication? Hours? Days? Or are some infestations too far along to knock out at all? So far not seeing any change after 12 hours. Thank you!

I've used it with metronidazole before without issue, but I can't say with any certainty that doing so is 100% safe. I do not alter lighting cycles.

@MischiefandFins4 жыл бұрын
I haven't seen any studies dealing with young fish specifically, but the ones I have seen on adults suggest that this is completely harmless to fish at the dosage of the mixture I made in the video. I would feel safe using it with fry, personally.

Is the water in the water bottle is tank water ? And what do you use as a droper ?
@MischiefandFins5 жыл бұрын
I just get a new bottle when I need it and use that, the water in the bottles is safe and it's easier than trying to measure out 995 ml. You can buy droppers at pharmacies for very little. Personally, I generally use pipettes, but that's because I buy them in bulk to use for harvesting baby brine shrimp.

I have a 45 gallon long tank with camallanus worm infected cichlids. How much to put into my tanks water? I'm planning on removing the substrate from the tank.
@MischiefandFins5 жыл бұрын
5:55 One drop per liter if you mixed the solution I showed. A 45 gallon long is about 42 gallons completely full, so you've probably got about 40 gallons of water, 40x3.78 liters gives 151 drops. That's basically 1.5 tsp in the US, or 7.5 ml elsewhere.

Watch it again starting at 5:55 and it explains the treatment frequency, water changes, etc If you are somebody that doesn't do well with auditory stuff, I'd check out this article: www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/levamisole-hydrochloride-1

Cliffs notes: treat every 5 days, wait 24 hours after treatment, change as much water as you can get away with before treating again. 3 treatments should be enough. If it isn't, I'd think maybe the medicine was bad.

Thank you so much for this video! We are having this problem at the moment and ordered the medication which is about to arrive. Trying to figure out if it will kill plants and bacteria in the filter. Also trying to figure out how contagious this is, and if we need to treat the other tanks in the house since we have used some equipment and may have cross contaminated everything. Thank you so much, any advice will be helpful!

In countries with stricter laws on medications your best bet is generally going to an exotic pet vet. I don't think worming stuff is as heavily regulated as antibiotics, though, so I'd call a few veterinary supply places and see if any carry the medication. My local places don't, but they can order it (they get a different brand, but it works fine)

Could you please help me identify a worm I found swimming in the water when I disturbed my substrate? I'm afraid that it might be a camallanus worm. It looks very similar to the one in the following video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4XEkIGHe5lkq6s&ab_channel=Natalie.Tomczyk The thing is that I don't have fish in my tank yet. I only have a dwarf crayfish and some snails. Could what I found still be a camallanus worm?

My wife will if Im asking, however, I find myself working at a methodical pace with the next 4-5 steps already planned. That more annoys her, than has her embracing assisting me.. lol I do keep an eye on your activities, and look forward to more communication, as your build gets closer. I took 39 years of fishkeeping and am enjoying my 3rd diy plywood build these days. Best to you with yours .. p.s. Did you say " camel anus worms " ?
