I have this in both hips and it’s really rare for me because I got told I’ll have arthritis in both hips and full hip replacement on both hips when I’m older.

How old are you Mary? I also have it in both sides. My hip replacement surgery is due end of the year.

@@sj_ash472 oh damn. I was born with it and had my first hip replaced last year. You're gona love it when it's your time. Def recommend it. I'm 40 and was reluctant for too long about surgery, should have done it earlier. All the best x

@@Nino-su7jv I'm super nervous but I am getting a hip osteotomy soon. Sorry you had a hip replacement. I like being active so I really am trying to avoid it lol

I'm assuming this is periacetabular osteotomy as they don't say. I I'm considering this option to myself

I’m 33, former college athlete and they said I will need two hip replacements by the time on 40 😢

I unfortunately have a very painful case of hip dysplasia, and I'm only 18. I'm thankfully getting this operation done in a couple of weeks instead of a complete hip replacement. The first orthopedic surgeon told me that the only way to correct my hip dysplasia would be a hip replacement. I went to another orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion, and I told him what the original surgeon's plans were, and I thought the same as my current surgeon that that would be very excessive, and I was told that this would be a better alternative than an unnecessary hip replacement, because as said in this video, a hip replacement is irreversible, so I'm looking forward to being able to be pain free and walk normally :)

Lady Sylvanas Hi, I hope you are doing great and everything turned out in a best way for you. Can you please give me the contact information of the second orthopaedic you were talking about?

I hope it went well! Im only 16 myself but I have incredibly painful hip dysplasia on both sides. This is an interesting treatment that I’ll probably be considering as I get older and as doctors start to take me a but more seriously (fingers crossed there lol).
