I was diagnosed 5 yrs ago at 65. My ferritin was 2200 then and rose to over 4700 before my first phlebotomy. Gave full units of blood wkly for 11/2 yrs. On maintenance now, only giving blood yrly. Have multiple lingering effects. Fatigue probably the worst but have fractured both hips despite no injury or trauma. Worn out from fighting this disease. No detectable damage to organs, no one sure why. Killed my dad and brother.

If you have high Iron saturation but normal iron levels( highside of normal) could you be suffering from Hemochromtosis

Is there any relation to Hemochromatosis and not storing antibodies?

I was 10… the Red Cross spotted something was wrong because my recent mole pre cancer op wound on my back burst open a week later after stitches were removed and would not heal.. I was going weekly for months… said go back to your doc and get a blood test… and doc said..ohhh the Red Cross stopped testing bloods…sorry about that….. I was extremely tired and dizzy… by that stage

Phlebotomies didn't cause problems, saved your life. Ferritin absorbed by all organs including brain, causes cancers and heart failure. It is very true that the medical profession is very poor at diagnosing and treating Hemo. We could have lived long , normal lives if diagnosed sooner.
