I like how goats are almost like the glitch of our matrix. They're the last animal you'd ever expect to be climbing things and they sound like people screaming.

I bought shampoo with Moroccan argan oil in it - very nice, but didn't give it much more thought. I also heard of tree-climbing goats, but didn't remember the details. Then I read Winston Graham's book "Tremor" about the 1960 earthquake in Agadir, and the whole nutty goat story came together! Thanks for the info - I love goats.

Just to clarify , the goats are not a part in the process of making Argane oil, like it s been said in this video. The fruit from the Argane tree can be harvest in two ways: 1- in summer time , the month of august , the fruit falls on the ground when the skin become dry, and this is the main way to collect Argane. 2- If goats are around , they will eat the fruit from the tree but only when the fruit still have a green skin , not dry yet , which means before the start of the harvest season . Now if you collect the Argane that had fallen by itself , you have to remove the dry skin to get to the nut. An a way it's an easy process because the skin is like an egg shell. If you have goat that have eaten Argane from the tree , they will eject the nut and they would have consumed only the skin. Now you can collect this Argane mainly from around where the goats are kept . Now start the process of making oil. For that you have to break open the nut to get to the kernel . It is a hard process and a labor demanding. The rest is shown in this video , roasting the kernel ( if you are making oil to eat) and collecting the paste . Working the paste while adding a precise amount of water( this is very crucial and this is where you have to be an expert) until you start seeing oil forming . At this stage, the paste become like a dough but hard and hard . The more you squeeze it , the harder it become , the more oil you get. In this whole process , nothing goes to waste. The collected skin of the nut is fed to cows, goats... The shell of the nut is used to ( the hard part) make fire for cooking. After squeezing most the oil from the paste , which is transformed to a hard looking dough , you can use it to feed animals , or use it to make beauty products like soap and cream . By the way , before Argane oil become a popular cosmetic product, it was only used as a culinary oil like olive oil. Delicious and very healthy . I hope I helped you understand more about this beautiful tree that I like and respect because that where I come from . Thanks for reading .

Spoken langages are arabic, French and English plus the the Berber, the langage of the native Moroccans . Four seasons, snow in the mountain , hot in the desert, mild climat by the ocean and the Mediterranean Sea . It is a land of opportunities in last few years. Lot of interest in investing in morocco mainly from Europeans . I hope I provided some importante informations that interest you. So, are you planing a trip to this part of the world? Or is it more business interest for you ?

Not so much business.. am a history buff. Morocco has it all I feel. Is it a very industrialised place? Or is it like Cuba.. kind of cut off from the world? What's the currency there? Which is the best currency to visit with?

The goat was always used as a holy animals. The Vatican changes it and use a sheep instead. The sheep is a psychology weapon they use on human mind. The goat use to represent defensive but it give people to much power so the Vatican had to come up with an animal that would turn the other cheek.

@@andersontomas55 not really Mandela since you probably don't live near Marraco where it is the only place where these goats climb trees. These goats originally did not climb trees because in the video it says Darwinism meaning they evolve to do that. I personally knew goats could climb mountains since I was like 10 but if you don't live near the mountains or care about mountains you probably also wouldn't know.

Goat climb trees for ages... and not only Argan trees... We had goats climbing the local Almond trees in the region... Also south-west Morocco, but not in the region where Argan trees grow. And it isn't always a positive thing. In the eighties/nineties there was a long dry period where a lot a trees died of drought and of goats looking for food.

I love goats and this symbiosis between the threes, the goats and humans is fulfilling. I also admire the ward working families, the older women that are able to bring an income to their families, being a key for the economy of their families, communities and country in general. What a lovely experience would be to spend some time there, living with those communities for a while. Wholesome video
