AWESOME documentary!!! Now 1 of my favorites! I use to have a raised bed in Virginia and it made working w/ anything so easy. I'm only 5'0” & it was about 4' across & between 6' - 8' long. I think it was closer to 8' long. Being 4' across & almost everything I planted grew to about half the bed again it was very easy to manage. I had chives (enough to feed the cul-de-sac😂), Basil, Parsley , Rosemary, huge Merigold, etc. I can't remember what else. But again this is one of the best doc I've seen in a long time. Please keep up all your hard work. May God continue to bless you and your family ALWAYS!

What a great joy to have watched this video from Soweto, South Africa. I am a retired Pastor and have started a backyard herbal garden for my family's health needs. I would like to connect with someone who might visit South Africa in the future.

But they missed half of the world, some herbs were mentioned in Europe and Asia, but they still haven't said anything about Ural, White Sea, Siberia and Eastern Russia, those lands have not just 2500 herbs, there are million different ones. Many are used in traditional medicine and also there are 200+ different nations with different herbal medicine traditions. Just a hint how huge herbal science might be in reality - multiply all this by a thousand.

Huge fan of studying herbs and natural remedies, this was a great video . My only disappointment was that there weren’t links in the description to purchase some of the products being made . Would have loved the opportunity to support some of the artisans as well as having the chance to try some of the products being made. I tried looking a few of them up with no success. If you have links for any of them please do share

Traditional natural medicine has always existed. My father told me that we have elders in my country who are aware of how to use natural medicines for healing purposes and they have worked. Nowadays i have noticed that the cities tend to rely heavily on imported pharmaceutical drugs but in remote areas people still rely on natural medicines. We have an abundance of herbs in South Sudan, and i have been researching their uses for a while.

India has had Ayurveda for centuries which relies on medicinal herbs to treat ailments and chronic diseases. Even neural surgery was done millennia before with the herbs including anaesthetic herbs. Many documents are taken away out of India during colonial era, unfortunately.

1:55:54 “ it’s stimulates the appetite and lowers blood sugar” now that is a phrase that is a little bit hard to digest, do you have an increased appetite and then the plants somehow functions as an analog to insulin so that shuttles the carbohydrate breakdown into ??? Or speeds up metabolism? Sounds a bit counterfactual imho

"I don't know why they didn't do well" he says whilst pointing to the wild flowers covered in plastic mulch.... "Its nature" says his companion 🤤
@Handles-R-Lame5 ай бұрын
My friend you are mistaken.. You do know that's not plastic mulch right? It's merely just a plastic covering to keep in moisture, retain heat and resist weathering of the soil an added benefit is that it can be easily removed. Lastly, if you notice that her crops at her house have the same type of treatment of plastic covering and they're growing wonderfully. Mulch is completely different.
