Me and Dad used ours for years. They are very safe and comfortable. 1st thing when you put your foot climber onto the tree without putting on the cross bar and hand nuts. Then you put the actual climber on the tree and let your shoulder straps hang off of the same side they are pointed towards from where they are attached to the treestand. Lift the treestand up as high as you can and to where it is almost level and put the crossbar and hand nuts on. At this point depending upon how tall you are. You decide which of 2 slots in the shoulder straps to put your footclimber bar's through. I personally had to use the shortest slots because I'm a little guy who only stands 5'3". After you get both straps on where you want them and out of the way of the tree. You raise and almost level your footclimber and put on your crossbar and hand nuts. Now your stand is ready to climb but you are not. The Treelounges came when bought new. With 2 safety straps. They were made of seatbelt material. Just like the seat itself is made of trampoline material. The 1st safety strap attached to the treelounge itself. It was to be attached to you immediately when you climbed into the treestand. Once you made it to this point. You, treestand and foot climber were inseparable. I personally carried a rope just a few feet longer than how high I wanted to climb, with safety clips on both ends just for quick safe ease of use.(Make sure that you attach both ends of your rope. 1 to your equipment and 1 to the treestand). Of course the rope has to be done before you get into the treestand. Sorry. Anyway, Once your equipment rope and your safety belt are attached. You are ready to climb the tree. Anyone who's ever messed with a treelounge understands that it is telescopic. For me. Whenever I got into mine. Sitting down. Facing the tree. I would reach out behind me and pull the foot platform in as close to me as I could to make it easier to pickup the weight of the treestand. It also helped me to be a little bit quieter while climbing. Once I got to the height I wanted. I would get my footclimber to the lowest point possible so I didn't have to worry about it falling and making noise. At this point push the bow platform all the way back out. Get up on your knee in the stand where you have one of your feet in the bow platform and Attach the 2nd safety strap directly to the tree itself. I forgot to explain that when you are adjusting your safety straps. I personally adjust mine to where when I'm standing on the bow platform. I can lean out just a little bit if I need to to shoot around the tree. I would adjust both of my straps this way once I got all set up. Then take a seat and relax. Take it all in while pulling up your gear and getting settled. Be safe. Good luck. Happy Hunting 😊

I had one of these stands and it was the loudest stand to set up I've ever owned. I was bear hunting in Michigan and my friend was hunting 500 yards away and he said it sounded like I was setting up in the tree next to him. Plus I hunt in thicker woods and swamps and it's a job trying to get through the brush with it as big as it is. I suppose if you hunt open areas it would be ok. It is by far the most comfortable stand I ever used until I built my own.

With bow platform you can stand and stretch a bit. I just learned of the history and Mr Hice’s passing today in 2024. Sad to hear. That and the company. Happy trails Sir. You are a legend.

Hi Mr Smith I still hunt with my original Tree Lounger, an original from Robert & Margaret's ownership. Mine has the wooden bow hunt platform stand. I hunt archery, rifle, shotgun & muzzleloader from this stand and I love it! I lived in Georgia for a few years and my two brothers still have several more of these old relics. I have just learned that the former Operations Officer at Tree Lounge is now making the standard Tree Lounge again along with the accessories. On his site are the standard model now called the Tree Lounger and the Ground Lounger which is s strap-on tree stand (basically a seat). There is not much information on his website www.treelounger.com. The small strap-on stand was listed at $79 and the new Tree Lounger at $279. These are American-made stands that are, I suppose, made at the old factory. I have one report from a person who purchased one and he said that he was pleased with it.

Actually the stand is not loud at all, the noise on this presentation is 1) the man is not experienced on this climber, 2) his safety strap carabina was hanging behind him banging into the frame and it should be attached to the TREE. I've killed a lot of deer from this stand and even at my advanced age I still use it every year! @randyjohnson68454 жыл бұрын
Its difficult to watch some men climb with a tree lounge. When you make that much noise and struggle to climb more than 6 inches at a time it doesn't have a good look .it will be difficult to sell stands when the person is struggling and noisy. When your strength is less than average you must push the stands overall length down by a few inches before you climb. That will balance out the overall weight. And climbing will be much easier. The more equipment you have the harder it will be to climb.so you must shorten the stand. When you get into final position you can easily pull the stand back to full length. These newer stands have a adjustable screw that will hold the stand in a shorter position for climbing so use it.i should be in all these videos climbing and carrying and just being a advisor. I have climbed with a tree lounge twice a day all hunting season long since 1990.i dont hunt in any other stands and I don't hunt private land. Private land is for women and children only.

@HoveySmith7 жыл бұрын
I would like to hear the details of your experience. If you do not attach the footpiece with the provided safety straps and tie your gun hoist line to the front of the footpiece it can get away from you. With these two precautions even if it does slip down the tree when you take your feet out of the footpiece you can easily pull it back up. Otherwise either the stand is too lose on the tree or the tree is too small. What happened to you? I mostly use the older square tube stands, but have had no adverse experiences with the D-model.
@aslawnscapes12537 жыл бұрын
Hovey Smith The lower part where you place your feet wasn't the problem. It was the upper part that was not bitting into the tree. There is a reason why they went back to the square tubing, it wasn't for strength, it was cuz the d frames slide down the tree when trying to climb up. It happened to me several times on many different trees. 2 of my family members have used them since the mid 90s back when they where made of steel. They haven't had any problems with there's but then again they have square tubing

In this video the tree lounge angle is to severe you will notice the higher he went the more difficult climbing the tree will became . I have 2 of these stands from back in the 80’s and 90’s he should have started with the stand at a higher angle that would have help the angle be less severe and he should have installed the leveler ,in the video he didn’t show the Hunter getting in the stand I believe the reason is because of his angle it would be very difficult trying to get out of the stand definitely practice before climbing with it once you know how it all works the stand can’t be beat .
