Nice equipment. Great job grinding you definitely know how to grind. I have to say though, I cant believe your reached down and picked up that rock or brick while the grinding wheel was still going. If you would have tripped or lost balance for some reason you could be seriously injured or dead. I am not for bashing on people just being mindful to point out a safety concern. I understand you angled the cutting wheel away from you but still very dangerous. Please dont get complacent and always be safe. Keep up the good work. Great video.

Really enjoyed your video! What does the machine retail at? And do you make a good living out of just stump grinding? Im looking to get into it my self, just not sure how i can justify an expensive machine like that with $60 stumps...

+Sev's Landscape Thanks. I could talk stump grinding all day. It has been very successful for me. I live in Oklahoma City. I think if you don't live in a large city, it might be hard. You have to know how to market yourself, get to the top of Google's search list, don't over charge, don't under charge, be professional, never show up late, show up clean with clean equipment, etc., etc.. The list goes on.

+James Fulks Im up in NH, small city's but a lot of them in one area. I see lots and lots of stumps sticking out everywhere and got my self thinking to do stump grinding but after researching the equipment for $60k and the price list that you charge (just to get an idea of how much stump grinding costs) and find that id have to stump grind at least 8 stumps a day, 5 days a week for 9 month at the rate of 41 a stump just to pay for the stump grinder it self. And thats a lot of stumps to grind in a week (8x5= 40 stumps a week). I just dont see how id be able to get that many stumps when most (but not all) tree companies also do stump grinding. Any tips or advices you could provide?

+Sev's Landscape There is a great site called arboristsite dot com. Check it out. Do a search for stump grinding or anything tree related and you can get a ton of information. You can do a search for stump grinding, or different brands of stump grinders, chainsaws, etc.. You can search my handle which is Cupocoffee where I have a few posts about stump grinding. It sure isn't for everyone. Some people hate it. Some tree people like making their money above ground. You would also need to check out your competition. See how many advertise on Craigslist. Obviously, I can't talk money specifics here but you can get a better feel on the aborist site. It is something to think about. You have to have a web presence and probably one separate from your landscape business.

Also, sometimes you will do 50 on 1 property and itll take all day. But, those jobs are $800-1000. You take the small $60 with the $200 and $1000. 40 stumps a week means you are not working almost at all. And most will not be $60. 3ft oak stumps are more like $175-200
