Tree Tangle - Zentangle Inspired Art Lesson

This is an art lesson aimed at 3rd - 12th-grade students. This lesson will focus on positive and negative space, value, tints and shades, as well as pattern. Zentangle has been popular the past few years and it is a great way to get students familiar with pattern and texture. We have incorporated all these concepts into a tree themed project. Materials:
-Brown paper grocery bag cut into a 12 x 12" square
-Tempera paint (white, black, one additional color)
Pencil
Fine and ultra Fine Sharpie or water-based marker
Small paint brush
Water cup
Paper Towel
