(In case our new friends don't notice, most of our videos now have many subtitles in different languages: Arabic, French, Russian, Korean, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, Indonesia, Vietnamese and so on. imagine if it was a real situation and being ignored like this, how can these people live knowing they left someone to die in the hands of an abuser even though they could've helped, i wouldn't be able to sleep tbh edit: i know how dangerous it can be assisting someone in this scenario, i just pictured myself in that situation seeking for help like her but getting ignored and thought about how those people who had the chance to help felt not being able to do something out of fear or whatever. so i kept wondering, did they feel guilty? or just chose not to help because it's none of their business? idk, some people are just egocentric

Some people don’t want to be involved because of the after-ramifications. You might need to go to court, get fined somehow, and the worst part is, you might get followed by the abuser in some way. Don’t judge people without being in that situation yourself, it’s scary sometimes

Sometimes even as passerbys, we gotta think about how we approach a situation. Arguing with an actual abuser may provoke them even more and the victim may be harmed even more at home. But each situation is unique, it may require immediate response or strategy. Really hard to say and not a black and white situation. But comfort to the victim is always helpful.

@@ferdychanani.lov.1864 i am sorry if you have to deal with any sort of abuse from anyone. it is completely unacceptable even if people call it ‘discipline’. if someone wants to discipline you, they should do it in a way that won’t harm you, physically or emotionally. you may feel like your parents r just trying to hurt you, but they might not b. good parents will make sure that their children know what is good and bad for them, and some of them think that by punishing them, they will learn a lesson. a mother or a father will go so far to keep their children safe, that they might not even realise they r hurting you. a lot of the time, they don’t mean to and they just want to protect you from bad things in the world. you might not agree with me on this, but deep down your parents do love you. i do not think, though, that punishing your children emotionally, physically or verbally is right. most of the time, it will not do anything, it will just scare the children as they fear for the consequences they might face from their parents. we all make mistakes, and sometimes it is not our fault, so it is not fair to be punished for them. i hope your parents will learn this, and you can stop hurting. i wish you the best, and i hope life gets better for you. 💗

I was a witness of domestic abuse. A man was hitting and screaming at his wife in the middle of a busy street. It was in late evening, when everyone was coming back home from work, but everyone chose to ignore it, especially young men that could easily prevent the situation. My friend tried to convince me that it isn't our place and that that man was so aggressive, he could easily knock me out. But I still chose to speak up. You know the whole "be scarier than the thing that scares you"? I think I just went by that logic, when defending the lady, hiding her behind me, and saying to the man to leave. I remember him aggressively yelling at me and asking my age for some reason, maybe so he could weigh the idea of hitting me if I said that I'm an adult (I look young for my age and I'm short also). He tried to dismiss my actions by saying "she's my wife" like she's his property some kind of possession What really made me sick to my stomach was seeing him cursing his wife and then apologizing and trying to kiss her, when she was clearly distressed and begging him to leave. It was when he left after saying that she's nothing without him, I found out that she's pregnant (it was late in the evening and winter, so I just thought that it was the clothes) Yes, that monster hit his pregnant wife. And you know for what? For having pregnancy cravings. She wanted chicken but he wanted fish. That was the whole reason for him to lay a hand on her. Me and my friend, who before tried to talk me out of altercation, stayed with her, walked her to her friends house (I asked multiple times did her husband knew where this friend lived and she said that she moved last week so he doesn't know this new address, unfortunately her parents live in the other side of the country) My friend said that it was still pointless because “she clearly will go back to him” When I finally got home, I just went to my room, closed the door And cried This isn't my first time preventing domestic abuse and I shouldn't be this overwhelmed and crying after each situation but still Edit: Thank you for your encouraging words but honestly I didn't do anything heroic, I think you'd try to do the same The reason why I shared my experience is to explain that thought the outcome was somewhat positive it can leave a mental scar (I had nightmares after that situation and became really cautious of men in general, especially considering I'm a girl myself) So I advise people to step up in groups, not alone because it's really scary to face an extremely abusive and aggressive person, I just got lucky, because that man could've hit me in the nose or give a black eye like he did to his pregnant wife I forgot to mention that while I was arguing with the man to leave his wife alone, my friend tried to call the police multiple times but the line was busy despite her calling for twenty minutes

Can't they at least "learn" how to contact the police (even kids know what "police" means but these types of ppl don't apparently 😶), or are they just making excuses to move on to their own lives? I once saw a situation of domestic violence on the street, a man hitting and screaming at his wife. A group of students were passing by near the situation and three cops on their motorcycles were passing by too, so the students told the cops what was happening and asked them to help the woman. The police talked to the husband and after a few minutes, the cops just left leaving the woman afraid and with the man. I was so angry, the police did nothing. Then the man and his wife just left.

I really hate how everybody just stares and act like they can’t do anything when they easily can. I mean it’s not like that guy’s got a weapon and he’s threatening you with it. It’s so easy to stand up for someone but they chose to ignore them. There was honestly nothing to fear. If you can’t fight then use your voice. What did you loose your voice? Just because you never went through an abusive marriage doesn’t mean you can’t help. There was obviously no excuse for those people who didn’t help. This is just making me mad and idc but just want to snatch their hair and yell at them. How would you like it if nobody helped you in this situation? These people are kinda dumb
