We should note something, something disturbing I've noticed: - One of the mannequins in the basketball game, when the ball is thrown, makes a thrusting movement - The mannequin at the end of the school minigame, the mannequin cracks its knuckles and attempts to grab the player I believe that the player character might have been molested by children/the neighbor/shadow man/other, which the neighbor/shadow man/other preys upon, and manipulates the player character's fears to drive them back to the house, and then torture him/kill him/other.

I think the demon is a passed child of the neighbor and has came back and all that crap...when he heard his child died he was devastated...or he was crying because you had to move out or something...for your safety...or you and your sister were kidnapped hence the missing poster... maybe your sister was killed but you escaped and she is the demon that's why the neighbor was crying...idk some of this just came to my head while typing

Maybe the beta 3 boss fight is a memory of the protagonists childhood... Remember the sign with 5 children holding on to a dad while one was unwanted? Maybe if the protagonist is the last child and he was unwanted maybe his dad beat him... The last boss fight might be you fighting the fear of your own father. but my only proof is the child screaming during the fight and the neighbor trying to hurt you... Plus this HEAVILY relies on "the neighbor is your father" theory. If anyone can find more proof for this PLEASE inform me by leaving a comment, and if there are flaws with this also leave a comment to inform me

Wow it's really incredible I've never actually play Hello Neighbor in my life before but I have seen a lot of the old game theories on it so you could say I was caught up with the story but I dropped off for a while and now there's all sorts of different updates to the game we can plainly see the characters face there's new cutscenes the game is like a million times bigger and is all sorts of new things about the story I have a question is it possible to play the original older updates because I've heard the story is like different each one right?

My theorie is that the golden apple was the housing unit for the shadow man or "the devil" but wean the protagonist or the player messed with it and set it free. So the neighbor was kinda like a gard in a jail he was tricked into a deal with the shadow man but he was tricked and dubble crossed so he trapped the shadow man in the apple.(I know sounds like Bill cipher from gravity falls goddam I love that show). Or simpler version the neighbor was tricked into a deal he was dubble crossed and he is trying to undo what he did but the player being the dumbass that he is we messed it all up.
