Tops back at you. Plans to do Annapurna circuit next with maybe return to Khumbu to do 3 Peaks. Defo Lhasa Tibet also on list. The effort & commitment to do these things are greatly rewarded by experiencing the sights n sound of the awesome wilderness - for sure.

Be safe I hear it's busier than ever up there and long waits to access summit is causing fatalities. All the best.
@MINDWISEMAN

A lot happened during 2 days approaching Base Camp. We had to reroute due to small avalanche rock fall on trek route caused by Khumbu Valley glacier on the move more than normal. Plus a lot of the fatalities regarding summit were due to inexperienced climbers taking oxygen bottles for granted, some tanks being taken from others. There's queues of climbers every season but this year was slow due to some climbers that simply didn't do their prep. Cheers.

Cheers Moose, yeh a lot of prep considerations applied so the experience could be enjoyed. Many I came across achieved the trek or didn't & suffered due to thinking it'd be a leisurely stroll.

So your adventure begins Pete, chuffed for ya mate, the scenery looks spectacular, makes the Beacons and Scottish Highlands look small in comparison. Hats off to those Sherpa's, their carrying bigger loads than them Donkey's, have an enjoyable and safe journey and atvb to you. 🇬🇧

It was a spectacular lifetime experience mate. Living with the Sherpas for 2 weeks was an experience in itself, they defied gravity let alone carry kit n kaboodles beyond normal human abilities. Thanks for following the process/prep/training etc & taking time to comment. Full vid A to Z up soon. Cheers!

I recall you doing a lot of 'hill walking' to kind of get ready for this. Well, you did it, good job man, I know it was tough, I have struggled with trying to breath at higher altitudes, and it's not easy. Up there in the REAL high altitudes, it's take a step, stop, take a breath, repeat. Sometimes it's that difficult for us who dwell at lower elevations where there's more O2. The people who live there are used to it, they grow up with that lower level of oxygen, then if they come down to be Gurkha soldiers for the Army, they're like a hot rodded car on nitrous oxide because they are getting way more O2 than normal. I knew a guy who had been a Sherpa and guided and summited Everest around 18 times I think it was. Nicest fellow you'd ever meet, and humble as well. I hope you're doing well, considering the current circumstances. ATB from New England USA.

Thanks for your response. It was interesting to find how my training contributed to the trek & experience. Also interesting how the process of induced hypoxia upon the body helps condition ones abilities with altitude. Yep the Sherpas & mountain people are genetically adapted to their environment. My porter had Gurkha family connections, told me some interesting history of their endeavours before they were known for aditions to certain global military units. I was planned for Mera Peak November 2020 but that went all pear shaped due to global restrictions. Now it's focussed on Tibet plus more of the Himal region for a longer period of time as soon as restroictions arelifted, however long that takes. All's welll as can be thanks, best regards for 2021 to you & NE USA!

Thanks for the feedback. I imagine you can see subtle changes to the environment. The Sherpas said a lot has sadly weather/environmentally changed even in the past 5 years. Once you've done EBC it becomes part of you.....that's why I will return to the Himal terrain. Cheers.
