Trek to Khumai Danda | Korchan | Full Video | Great Machhapuchre Trail | GMT | Yayavar

After our last trip to Annapurna Base Camp, we are searching the short trekking destination where we can play snow and watch snowed mountain. And this winter, it is gone without snowed . In the end of this year we saw and we even shared a few places around Nepal covered in snow at offseason. It is astonishing how snowfall completely changes the feel of a landscape and mountains, it's beautiful in a different way. The desire to get out and be somewhere was getting stronger, and that’s when we found out about Khumai Dada (3245 m) and Korchan Danda (3682 m). The news of snow at the hilly area of Nepal led us directly to Ghachok in the month of Chaitra where our trek began. Once there, we found that Khumai is a section of the longer Great Machhapuchre Trail initiated by the locals there. As we planned to trek to Mardi through Korchan, we were very excited but due to Over snowing and lack of time and treking route guide, doing this trek wasn’t possible this time.
Nonetheless, trekking upto Khumai Dada and korchan and enjoying the pristine snow along with the magnificent view of the Himalayas, being up so close to Mt. Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna Massif was truly an amazing experience. The beauty of the Khumai Danda and Korchan Danda, the local delicacies and the involvement of the youths who are working hard to promote and develop this trail is even more fascinating. We are thankful to all the People of Ghachok and this Trail route and everyone involved for the wonderful experience.
