Trek to the Lost City in Colombia (Ciudad Perdida)

We trekked 46km over four days in the Colombia Jungle to reach the amazing archeological site called the Lost City (or Ciudad Perdida in Spanish). Unlike Machu Picchu, you must hike to reach this amazing place!
This site was built around 800AD and was only rediscovered again in 1972.
We would highly recommend this hike for anyone looking for a challenging but rewarding hike that is very rich in history.

Hi, yes we booked through our hostel. I think you book directly with the company too. It probably books out in peak season, but we were there in the rainy season and during covid so I can’t comment on this sorry!! It’s a great hike, hope you enjoy it one day!

How difficult is trekking through this? I am interested in doing this, but not sure how 'in shape' you have to be.

I would say most people could do it, and you can take it at your own pace. There is an option to do it over one more day too to keep the days a bit shorter! I would highly recommend!!

@@thehikingexplorers2135 Thanks, just curious if there was ever a moment at that altitude, where you found it hard to breathe and if going in a particular time of year is more challenging, for instance in August would it be a lot more humid? I suppose this trek like any other would not require anything special other than good mosquito/bug spray, good hiking socks/shoes.
