We LOVE Vietnam! This is a vid is from a trip we took last summer, but thought it'd be cool to share with you all. Certainly a challenge staying plant-based in these tiny towns and villages in northern Vietnam, but you can make it work! ✌🌏

It sounds like a wonderful adventure! It's like nature's gift to humanity - I was recently there and did a home stay with hmong family as well - It's just like heaven on earth

ANDREW - You have the BEST narrating voice ever xD Seriously was laughing throughout the video. SO entertaining! What an eventful trip. The villages reminded me of the time I was in Laos :) I have a few questions ~ What are the water buffalo for? How was smoking the tobacco? (lol xD) and is the rice naturally green? :O So jealous! Love all the bananas and sticky rice

LOL glad you like the narrating voice! We need to get to Laos someday. Maybe we'll look to you for some suggestions if we make it over there soon. GREAT questions, Tyra..for water buffalo, it seemed as most were used as work animals on farms. It didn't seem like they were used for eating as we didn't see that on many of the menus we saw. But that's just from our limited experience. The smoking tobacco was STRONG. I just had one rip and immediately felt quite dizzy. Nice to try, but I really don't know how those guys just kept their pace...must come with experience haha. Yes the rice is naturally green! Apparently it's only grown in certain parts of the country, but as seen as a delicacy in many parts of Vietnam. They use those big wok-like pans to "cook" the rice down to get to a slightly sticky/crunchy consistency. It's not as soft and sticky as Thai sticky rice (and not as delicious haha). Nothing beats a mango sticky rice in my book!
