Nice to hear some of my Hmong folks are still there. Would love to visit the area in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Cool to see. Hopefully the future is more eco lodge type places in harmony with nature and fewer mega hotel towers of metal, concrete, and plastic.

Looks amazing! Definitely on our list of places to stay. We just returned form a marvellous trip around Vietnam. Our highlight was Ba Vi national park

That's beautiful, Mark . Far northwest Viet Nam is one of the few areas I haven't visited. Do they speak tiếng bắc there or does it have its own dialect?

Hi Jim - the locals speak Vietnamese now as a second language. Hmong, Thai, Dao etc are the first languages of the locals of these parts. More and more "Kinh" Vietnamese are moving into these parts too.

Fantastic idea and first installment. It's pretty hard to figure out how nice and truly "eco" a place is just from Booking.com, etc. Videos like this can help a lot.

True Tim - and I haven't done an intensive sustainability test here either. But you can be sure it's streets ahead of most of what's being built in the neighbourhood. Keen to dig deeper on the front too. Booking.com and their likes just reproduce the hotel propaganda...

Love your videos, so peaceful and informative. A great break from the lot of bull shit travel videos made by "traveling nomads" that KZbin love to recommend everytime I type in "vietnam"
