Grew up in Malaysia as a child in the 90’s and we often did the sleeper train from Singapore through to Malaysia. Such a lovely way to see the countryside and wonderful memories were made. Would love to do this trip on this train and travel through stations I did many years ago.

Yea, and a tiny bed, in Malaysia. I get as luxury goes up, the price goes up disproportionally. That’s fine, but this is just a bad deal. In Malaysia, you could hire a limousine, private driver, take the same route, however, dine in the finest restaurants along the way, and stay at the best rooms in the finest hotels, and pay less. I hope that price is just a marketing price, and it’s always on sale or something, because why pay it for a far worse experience then you can get elsewhere?

I remember my love for train travel beginning on this train in New Zealand as a five year old traveling with my grand mother between Napier and Hastings. The noise of the tracks, the cups of strong tea served in heavy white cups, trees rushing by and the best memory I have of my grandmother to this day. I have never been on a train again in my life but I live vicariously through all of your wonderful journeys and I thank you for that :) Trek on with joy to you and your family, from your fan in New Zealand.

Will, your videography and editing are second to none! I'm mystified how you keep such a steady camera shot on a train that is moving!!! The cabins on the train look fantastic! The dining looked like tight quarters at the table although the food looks delicious! Loved the video!

& the attention to detail… Set the camera down on the train station platform to film himself walking onto the train from behind. Go back out to get the camera & now place the camera inside the train & cut to the shot from in front of him walking onto the train. Very time consuming & takes a lot of patience!

You are assumed to be willing to accept the risk and other T&C that comes with your ticket. Just suck it up and move on. Fantastic Will, thanks for doing this. I took the EnO about 10yrs ago, and as you allude to a few things have changed. Back in the day the trip started at Raffles with all the formalities handled there then a bus up to Woodlands. We were also able to cross the Thai border and get to Bangkok via a stop in Kanchanaburi. Lucky you and Dad getting to Langkawi though, i one of my personal favourites. Great filming aa ever and thanks for the trip down memory lane (train track!)

This luxury experience for 2 pax costs as much as a 3-year mid-ranked private university bachelor's degree here in Malaysia. It's incredible. I'll probably never find it in myself to fork out this amount for a train ride, so I'm glad I can experience it vicariously. 😊

I took that trip quite a few years ago from Bangkok to Singapore. When we stopped in Phuket Thailand for dinner onboard we became the attraction and the locals and some tourists came down to the train station and snapped pictures of us while we were eating as well as the train. The interior of the train looks exactly as I remembered it.
