There's a demo of a song by Xtina and CeeLo called Nasty that didn't make it on to Burlesque due to sampling rights. It's available on youtube too. Check it out, you might like it. It was later given to Pixie Lott and released commercially. Also, they sang Baby it's cold outside together for CeeLo's Xmas album. Another great song.

Most fans agree that Lotus is not her best work. She went for a more pop driven record. And not that this should matter, but it is the fastest she released two consecutive albums in her career. So, maybe she rushed this one a little bit. I think she redeemed herself with Liberation though.

My opinion about Lotus being a die hard fan of Xtina's is that the album came out sooner that it should've been. I think only 2 songs are in the final stage (Your body and Let there be love which are the only 2 music videos) the rest of the album feels like a demo needing more layers of production and more time of working, specially the ballads. It came out 2 years after bionic and the regular time for her is 4 years between albums. Maybe her record company was pushing her too much and the took advantage of her being on tv weekly and the smash hit of "Moves like jagger" but it didn't work.

I’m a huge Xtina fan and this album is something lmao I feel this was a very label driven album (i don’t have any sources so I can be very wrong & just an ignorant opinion). There are songs that I like - red hot kinda love, let there be love, blank page, circles, and best of me). I don’t wanna be dramatic, but cease fire is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. You were spot on with your review! Keep it up- I’m loving your reviews!

Yes! She is a soul singer! Christina is at her best when she mixes pop with other genres, like soul or jazz or RnB. Also, don't worry. Lotus? We don't know her, it was rushed and messy. There's a good album here, but it needed more work and more time. Besides Your Body, which is a bop.

It looks like a fast produced album! No really cohesive between songs but it has some great songs! My favorites “Your Body” “Let there be love” “Blank Page” “Light up in the Sky” “Army of Me” but my faves byyyy far “Just a Fool” and “Empty Words” I loveeee them!

There are some good tracks in Lotus. My favorite is Just a fool plus the two songs made by Max Martin.

Lol the theme and inspiration she was going for was good. The image of an unbreakable lotus. I was hoping for more references to maybe why the cage bird sings and flowers can survive through the harshest of climate. But yeah, that didn’t happen. I think the voice effect is something that is regularly done in pop music so why not play with it more on record she said was going to be pop driven. On that note, I still keep Let There Be Love, Just a Fool and Light up the sky from this record on my playlist. 💗

LOVE Liberation though can’t wait to watch your take on it (I’ve enjoyed re-experiencing all her albums through you!) Stripped remains one of my favourite pop albums of all time, loved watching you vibe to it 😝

Just made my spotify journey with her cataglog and on her caliber this is her 2nd least in terms of quality, why ??? the standard of its predecessor are way beyond simple artistry, its a evolutions...people have different preference but in time all her album will be apprciate but maybe not this time

I’m not going to lie, it took me a minute to appreciate this album. However, this album seemed unfinished. The production was rough, and it didn’t have that xtina touch. Many of the songs had potential and some many are bops. For example light up the Skye could’ve been beautiful and iconic if the production was right. Best of me is so good too!

LOL Angelina Jordan as 7yo with Springtime and bang bang then at 9 with i got a spell on you the black n white version with screaming J hawkins, then at 13 with Bohemian Rhapsody and then her own songs Million Miles and 7th Heaven...and actually every song in between!!! As a super fan I still struggle trying to listen to this album because it is so beneath her artistic and vocal standards. It was a very stressful era for us fighters😅😂. The production was a goddamn mess and unbearable for me. Though there are some songs that grew on me like Blank Page but all in all I try to ignore this one😬. Can't wait for your liberation reaction though.

It's a meh record, with interesting choices, and a few hidden gems. The rest like you said was unnecessary. A few things: * Wash your ears of Ceelo's & Xtina's collabo on LOTUS with their collabo of "Baby It's Cold Outside" on Ceelo's Christmas album. TRUST ME YOU'LL THANK ME LATER. But please don't deny us a reaction. Ha ha! * Let There Be Love - Was Xtina's dedication to the LGBT community and there is a music video to go along with it. And finally, while LOTUS as a record failed to wow us fans as a cohesive project. The period between 2012 and 2018 saw some pretty interesting musical projects from Ms. Aguilera. Some highlights Include: A song for the Film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, that annoying dance song with Pitbull, Country Songs for her brief sting on Nashville, a Spanish ballad with Mexican superstar Alejandro Fernandez, a broadway arranged ballad for the Finding Neverland album, a disco song produced by Nile Rogers for the Netflix series The Get Down, and of course the #1 hit song with Maroon 5, and the grammy winning collaboration with A Great Big World.

Yes we hardcore stans pretend Lotus doesn’t exists, we honestly believe the label forced her to record those songs, it reminds me so much of her debut and not in a good way. Terrible album and I am obsessed with the Legendary Christina Aguilera. The production is trash too.

The unwanted stepchild of an album... Lol it had a couple tracks that stood out but overall I was a bit underwhelmed. This project was rushed and the audio isn't mastered well. LET THERE BE LOVE had an iphone compilation video.

Fun fact Let there be love went no 1 on billboards dance charts and it was so in demand from the fans she made a fun fan inclusive mv with tons of lgbt+ inclusivity

Her voice sounds so coarse and tired even on the tracks this album was very weak for Xtina. I’m her biggest fan and this album is embarrassing, she’s just pandering to top 40 and the gp. Liberation was her comeback and her voice sounded stronger than ever and the songs are near if not perfection.

I really like this album, but there are some songs I find really boring and uninspired. And then there's Make the World Move. Probaby my least favorite song she's ever done. The chorus is literally just noise. But at least the ballads in Lotus are top notch, especially Sing for Me and Blank Page, and even though it doesn't fit the sound of the album, I really love Just a Fool.
