I am in the process of purchasing the Tremec TKX Manual Transmission for my Ford Mustang 1992 LX with an LS swap Engine . there are two types of TKX Transmissions available. I want to make sure I choose the right that fit the LS Engine . Additionally, I have seen that there is an LS bellhousing option as well as Clutch LS kit .Could you please advise me on which specific type I should purchase for my vehicle? Ford or GM ?

I received a small packet of white grease with my thx what is this used for and do I oil the splines.

What parts needed to make this with work chevy 350. Clutch, pressure plate - they make fingers that don't stick out some much, flywheel. 2 peace main, What's the specs on the bearing fully close. I need to lose 0.44 spacing. To use a hydraulic bearing.

@@yotaismygame If you plan on doing lots of highway driving, TCET17805 with 2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.00, 0.68 would be the best. If you have other plans, the .81 5th gear would be preferred.

A TKX will not, but a TREMEC Magnum XL 6-Speed will. The TKX is too short and the shifter would be too close to the dash. The Magnum XL is much longer and will put the shifter in the correct position. 888-609-0070 if you want to learn more.

I sold my TKO 500 a few years ago because the thing wouldn’t shift past 6k. I went with the Astro A5 and haven’t looked back since. What’s the dimensions on this for a Fox body? Because a TKO 500 required a little massaging of the tunnel.

I was asking about the dimensions because I just got a new driveshaft and was wondering if I could just change the slip yoke to 31 spline instead of having to get a new driveshaft.

@@chadj8349 TKO/TKX are .340” shorter than T5 so you should be able to use the existing driveshaft depending on how much stick out you have right now. If it borders on being somewhat short, it may not work. If you’re using a Stifflers TCB-M09, it will work.

Silly Me didn't think that GM used different Transmissions between Chevelles and Camaros.. I have a 1979 F Body that came with a Borg Watner T-10 I put a Doug Nash 5 speed in it many years ago no Overdrive and still have the stock 3.73 rear gear in it .. You said this Trans bolts in place of a Muncie ..

@@SilverSportTransmissions I owuld think so but I was not sure.. I plan an LS engine in the future.. but for now still have the Gen I small block .. I would think all GM cars use the same bolt pattern they do on the back of the Block at least.. This Trans would be a huge improvment over My Doug Nash 5 speed which does not shift whell at high RPM's and has no overdrive.. Plus I could still use my present manual clutch .. Where as the T-56 is hydraulic only clutch is .. what I gather so far..

For a 2WD Ford Pickup, we have the choice of a TREMEC TKX 5-Speed or a TREMEC Magnum 6-Speed. The TR-4050 is 4WD only.
