It's refreshing to see how many people take pride in their work. It's not even their vehicle, and they go the extra mile. I got the feeling that even if the camera wasn't on them, they would act the same. Brazen is a whole new beast now.

I wish I had found you before hand but! I went with Silver State myself! Went from a 3 speed automatic with a 4,000 stall B&M to the Tremec Magnum 6 speed 😁 they were simply amazing they put the entire kit together for my car, and again perfect fit, I’m having it installed at Car Effex in New Jersey (I no longer have a shop to work on it myself) and they got the transmission shipped faster than I thought possible! Came with everything that was needed to install and Car Effex charged me less than $3k to install it. Totally worth it $8,437.56 to save on fuel and actually have something that won’t bounce off the rev limiter in 3rd gear at anything close to half throttle! They are sending pictures of the build but I will be doing a video or two once I pick it up with the upgrades! Next is a full suspension upgrade to actually make sure I survive 750 WHP in a car that is the same age as I am 😅

I literally cannot mat the pedal without it bouncing off the limiter 1/2 second after hitting it. Awesome video man! There's nothing like banging gears. Especially, in a Mopar musclecar. Ask the MoParty organizers to bring back the Stick Shift Class, we would love to see that Charger ripping through the gears out there.

Great video and plenty of detail. I would love to see a video like this for installing either a Tremec TKX or Tremec Magnum an A-Body. I have a 4 speed, but an overdrive would be really nice to have.

I don’t think SST has done that. Ours was the first B-body to get their “final version” of their TKX kit. Adapting these transmissions take quite a bit of work.

Doesn’t matter now but I ordered a 4 speed floor hump from Keisler for a 70 A body around 2004-2005 and they sent me a floor hump for an E Body and by the time I realized it they were out of business. Never knew they became Silver Sport Transmission. I still have the receipt and the floor hump.

So what is the torque rating on the TKX? will it hold 900 lb feet?
@moparconnection8 ай бұрын
No, on paper they state 700lbs. but Sick Week racers are using the TKX and making nearly four digits. We talked with McLeod and they assured that the RXT dual clutch was strong enough to hold the 800hp that our future 572 Hemi will make.

@moparconnection6 ай бұрын
SST offers a 4L60E option called an A41 Overdrive. It works great for applications making less than 600HP. A Gear Vendor is rock solid, but you might find it a bit overkill.

Kevin one more clarifying question do you have to loosen the headers to get the starter out or can you just get it out without doing anything inquiring minds want to know thank you very much even now with the 5 speed?? Was there any specifications on the RPM's that you are able to shift it at. is there a limit on the high end, just curious mine runs at 7000 rs when letting her fly I am used to a heavy duty clutch just curious as to what kind of pedal pressure that this has being hydraulic and also a diaphragm spring thanks Kevin

A couple things: This kit is close to 7k without labor. Dialing in the bellhousing is typically a nightmare. If you want a modern transmission this is a good kit. I just can't afford it. On an A-Body there's a lot more cutting including torsion bar crossmember and massaging the floor. I hope Silver Sport comes out with an A-Body video soon.
@moparconnection8 ай бұрын
We showed you each step of dialing-in the bell housing. Thankfully, SST takes the time to machine it within a couple thousandths. And the TKX doesn’t require nearly as much cutting to the A-body as the previous TKO.
@normp32738 ай бұрын
@@moparconnection I did see that part. And thank you for showing it. It looks easy because the people doing it knows what they're doing. For people like me that kind of know it's still a nightmare. Thank you for the upload
@moparconnection8 ай бұрын
That’s fair and many don’t have dial indicators set up for such a procedure. Slamming in a Torqueflite is demonstrably easier for sure but a manual has radically changed the way I drive this car.
@MostlyOldPartsAndRust8 ай бұрын
If you are doing a HP install with your automatic installation you pull all of the guts out, bolt the bare case to the engine and dial indicate in the housing on the oil pump locating diameter. That's what A & A Transmissions had us do on my brother's 650 HP, 520 cu pump gas engine in his Roadrunner. If the case is not in the proper location, you need special offset dowel pins, RobbMC makes those. I haven't done that yet on my 999 trans in my Duster, but plan to this winter.
