This really impressed me. I was expecting a joke vid but got kicked in the face with good musicianship. Those instruments are tough to play, I had students that would bring them in. Though you can find one's that play just fine. I've done acoustic versions of songs where you have to lower the solo's but I had to sit down and practice it well in advance. I've skipped a few because I'm usually alone but I may rethink that now. Maybe that's the case here but I don't doubt Mark Tremonti is a good enough guitarist to be able to do that without having to rehearse it much. If at all.

I disagree about the rehearsing... I cant imagine them being able to just show up and pull this off on the first try. those instruments have a completely different feel that your hands need time to adapt to. additionally the smaller guitar has so few frets that some parts may have had to be transposed to fit within the available. I think they sat down and worked it out and practiced ahead of time.

Why didn't Mark just to on his own much earlier!! WHY?!?! I didn't know that he has such a phenomenal voice!! It is indescribable and can only be summed up in one way that most people can relate to. Operatic, beautifully articulate, and instantly recognisable. I knew that he could sing background vocals but had I known then I could have been more satisfied and encouraged him to go solo when Scott Stapp left the band and went nuts! Myles Kennedy has a great singing voice but imagine the Creed catalogue with Mark singing all these songs instead of Scott. It's not like they really needed his nasaly, hillbilly southern drawl when Mark has the talent to push the band and keep it going and has enough talent for TEN BANDS!! And for him to have such a sense of humour and play Metallica and Sanitarium - one of the hardest songs to play on Hello Kitty guitars and ukulele and keep a straight face speaks volumes of this mans' character. Thank you ever so much for sharing this with the rest of us to enjoy!

That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen! 🙂 That being said, I am very impressed by Mark Tremonti's Hello Kitty acoustic guitar playing and Eric Friedman's Hello Kitty ukulele playing of their cover of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" from Metallica! 🙂 I didn't even know there were Hello Kitty instruments. That brand definitely has all kinds of merchandise! 🙂 I really liked Mark's vocals on the song! Eric Friedman did a really good job with backing vocals also! 🙂 🎤 🎸 I'm going to tease Mark and Eric a little bit and use my ROCK voice that I came up with a while back! 🙂 In this ROCK voice Mark is like, "I'm Mark Tremonti! I'm covering Metallica! And I'm jamming on my Hello Kitty guitar!" And also in that ROCK voice Eric is like, "I'm Eric Friedman! I'm covering Metallica! And I'm jamming on my Hello Kitty ukele!" Lol! Like I said, I'm just teasing them. 🙂 I've been a big fan of Mark's since 2000 and he inspired me to want to play the electric guitar! 🙂 🎸 I bought my first acoustic guitar recently, which I'm very excited about! I also bought Mark's instructional DVD and the digital version recently! I do want to buy an electric guitar also, but it will have to wait until I can afford one. I've been a fan of Eric's since his days in Submersed! 🙂 That's awesome that Eric is a member of the band Tremonti now! The one album that I've heard from them so far is "All I Was". I've heard some other songs from their other albums also and plan on listening to their other albums sometime in the near future! 🙂 Mark and Eric did a really good cover of "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and I am really impressed that they were able to play the song with the small Hello Kitty acoustic guitar and ukulele! 🙂 🎸 🎸
