OMG that detail of Burt checking the gun even though he knew it’s wasn’t loaded is one of the BEST attention to details for a character ever put to screen. This is why we love Burt. As you said, sure he’s the butt of some jokes but he’s not a dumb character at all.

Tremor is one of the few movie you can watch pretty much on loop and never, ever get bored of. i dunno what kind of magic there is into it, perhaps the fact every single character is so great and likable, but it's indeed a freakin' masterpiece. Great video! And you didn't even mention how great Reba McIntyre is as Burt's wife. She is just as smart as him and saves his life. Nowadays they'd intentionally make the wife smarter and cram it down our throats, but in Tremors it doesn't come across as forced at all and she seems exactly like the type of women a guy like Burt would want by his side because he appreciates that about her.

He's right, I saw this in the cinemas in Australia TWICE at the tender age of 23. I can count the number of movies I saw twice at a cinema on 1 hand and they rightfully so include BACK TO THE FUTURE. I have two much much younger sisters and it was a sheer delight introducing them to great pop culture movies they'd have probably not seen like this movie or DEMOLITION MAN.

YES!! I grew up watching this movie on the Navajo Nation when I was younger. I saw it on NBC back in 1993 or 1994. It was a fun ride. The idea came from Brent Maddock and SS Wilson, they were in the Navy, they were sitting on a large rock in a Nevada test site and one of them said, "what if there was something under the ground that would never let us of this rock?" And thus TREMORS was born.

Couldn't agree more. The sequels are fun, but the original is so full of love. Great snippet of character dialogue right at the outset, when Val asks Earl if a cattle event is to be considered a stampede, is there a requirement of minimum speed? Hilarious throwaway line, so good, the viewer's ears prick up so as to not miss the next one. Right away, we're fully awake.

I will always have a place in my heart for the first Tremors. One thing I do like about the franchise is that they never replace a character with a different actor. The character themselves just leave the universe. It’s sad in some ways. To see Earl down and out after Val left with Ronda and the same with Burt after Heather left him is unfortunate. But Miquel come back in part 3 with the same actor or Arianna Richards come back as a grown up Mindy, it’s brings a great level of continuity. Even Melvin returning as a land developer.

One of my favorite movies! Saw it back in the early 90s; NBC would always show it as a Sunday Night Movie & I instantly fell in love. The TV edits of the profanity are hilarious & deserve a watch if you can find 'em online--specifically the NBC airings 😂 Tremors does that balance of comedy & horror much like the original Ghostbusters or Little Shop of Horrors ('86)--probably why I love it so much. When it's funny, it's hilarious. When it's scary, it's terrifying.--And I love that juxtaposition of "the ordinary vs the extraordinary." Definitely one of the last great monster movies of its kind.
