Cole went from "i dont need nobody else to be successful" to "i dont NEED anyone to be successful, but if i can body every rapper in their own tracks, and give them exposure and helping them get food on their table, i'ma go with that". I cant think of anybody that is better than Cole. Chance is up there but Cole seems more seasoned. Kendrick is elite but sometimes his choruses ruin his songs, Logic is top level but makes wack product, Waynes metaphors and lines are some of the best I've heard, has the potential but a lot of his songs are just fucked, and on and on.. Cole took what Rakim, Big, Nas, Pac, Joe + Pun, Bone, etc. taught the people, actually took it in and then became arguably the best to ever do it. As an artist it seems like he has no weaknesses probably because he is humble enough to have recognized them early and figured the shit out or has magic dust in his pen. I have yet to hear a Cole song that was bad.. Great ambassador of hip hop. And is the most well rounded artist today. Everything is about preference, but In black and white he is the Michael Jordan, the Neil Tyson, the Jim Morrison, the Floyd Mayweather, the Bo Jackson, the Rodney Mullins, the Ussain bolt, the Leonidas from 300 of Hip Hop. But then again what do I know I'm just some white kid on KZbin, that hasn't heard every single song/artist that makes/made music, with no diploma in analytics, and probably smoked too much to think this much about it. It's all just an unbiased opinion..

I love Cole! Been a fan since day 1 since the first bars I heard. And he a legend, G.O.A.T. So he really didn't need Joeys blessing. But for him to have the respect an honor to go and ask the man for his okay before releasing the song shows so much about J.Cole and the kind of person he is. Both of them are Amazing artist and amazing men and role models! They goin to be around for ever and they are my generations Biggie, pac, nas, krs1 outcast. Who ever you wanna say is legends they are ours! And They b trying to put all of us on game and teach knowledge. Love that! I could listen to those 2 plus a few more all day every day! #DREAMVILLE #PROERA

Unpopular opinion no one really asked for but i feel like saying this somewhere: there is no GOAT in rap, and never will be. There's so much shit to an artist, some are bound to be better than others. Pac had the best lyricism, Big had the best flows, Nas had the best storytelling, kendrick can make you fell stuff you never felt before, Cole just learns and improves methodically like he studying rap for years, Andre 3k Did his thing and proved you could leave the box and still be one of the greats, Drake has the best melodies, MF Doom bended the English language like he was shaping bread dough, fuck, even a shithead like 6ix9ine, almost NO ONE gets a crowd as wild as he does, might be the best live performer today. I feel like people should give every rapper a fair chance and not play favorites. Same with subgenres, some trap is better than some conscious rap, some gangsta rap is chiller than a rap/rnb combo, everything has a place to exist, and if it's good, thats enough, doesnt need to be ranked.
