TRENDY NO SEW DIY SHAGGY CARDIGAN | CRAFTING WITH CASS

This DIY Shaggy Cardigan was a labor of love, but I absolutely love how it turned out!! I previously saw a cardigan similar in style at ASOS online store and Pretty Little Things. I recreated it using basic yarn and fabric glue. This project is an easy way to up-cycle an old worn out cardigan and use some sweat equity to save some money and create a bomb shag cardigan for the fall and winter season!! Hi!! Thank You!! I've been treating this cardigan more like a showpiece lol, so I rarely wear it. I at most have just been spot cleaning and it's held up great that way. I haven't tested any other washing methods with it even though the fabric glue directions says it can be washed . Thanks! ✨️💕

Does the glue make it so the jacket can’t stretch anymore? I’m making one of these, but I don’t want to lose the stretchiness in the jacket.

Hey Nikky!! I've only tried spot cleaning it which has worked for me. I haven't worn it too, too much because I'm not 💯 on how the yarn would hold up being washed and I haven't needed to dry clean yet. Hope that helps a lil!!✌💕

Hey, I recommend spot cleaning. I haven't tested out hand washing, but that may possibly work as well. The fabric glue I used says it can withstand water but I'm not sure about what all the yarn would end up looking like. Dry clean sounds like another good option. But, I'm honestly not sure. Hi Tracy, I have only spot cleaned mine personally. I haven't worn it much cuz I was hesitant to completely wash it and it possibly get damaged. I didn't see any details on the fabric glue bottle about washing care. I might test it out in the future on a small sample to know for sure. Hope that kinda helps... lol. How long would you say each piece of string was cut to?

👋👋 The piece of string needs to be as long as the length of the side your trying to cover and part of the back.., so in my case adding 27inch string filled with tassels...covered a left or right side panel and part of back. So, basically.... u can eyeball it too lol and should be fine. Whew, sounds like a lot. Hope it makes sense and helps lol! Thanks! ✌💕

Hey Mo!! Umm I'm not sure about using the glue sticks cuz they usually create a white kinda cast that u can probably notice and not sure how sturdy it will be. But I have had success using hot glue and yarn on other projects so it's like a 50/50 shot. Hope this helps! Thanks girl!!💖❣💕
