Ooof, I hope that Trent Reznor is not secretly celebritized/propagandized too. For example, if Trent Reznor were one of the persons involved in being blackmailed by Jeffrey Epstein pyramid scheme cult, that would be a bummer. Marilyn Manson might be more likely, given he previously admitted to sexual activities with teenagers. Of Of course, he would probably lie under oath just like James Clapper of NSA or Google's Karan K Bhatia who lied to US Senate under oath claiming that Google does not manipulate search results using whitelists/blacklists, but then Zachary Vorhies leaked documents exposing that they do and have been for years, and far worse this year, even to the point of blatantly meddling with elections.

This piece really fits the Jon/Laurie scene on Mars from the original comic. "I don't think your life is meaningless. Thermodynamic miracles... Events with odds so astronomical they're effectively impossible, like oxygen spontaneously becoming gold. I long to observe such a thing. And yet, in each human coupling, a thousand million sperm vie for a single egg. Multiply those odds by countless generations, against the odds of your ancestors being alive; meeting; siring this precise son; that exact daughter... Until your mother loves a man she has every reason to hate, and of that union, of the thousand million children competing for fertilization, it was you, only you, that emerged. To distill so specific a form from that chaos of improbability, like turning air into gold... That is the crowning of unlikelihood. The thermodynamic miracle. But the world is so full of people, so crowded with these miracles that they become commonplace and we forget... I forget. We gaze continually at the world and it grows dull in our perceptions. Yet seen from another's vantage point, as if new, it may still take our breath away. Come, dry your eyes, for you are life, rarer than a quark and unpredictable beyond the dreams of Heisenberg; the clay in which the forces that shape all things leave their fingerprints most clearly. Dry your eyes... ... and let's go home."

I'd imagine it's a happy-sad kinda feeling. I had a close older friend who was my mentor on video games and taught me a bunch, and eventually I started playing MLG and winning prizes and money, and he was always there for me. He died a few years ago, and his son gets on his account sometimes and I play with him and teach him all the things his father taught me, and try to teach him to be respectful and enjoy the game and not be a sore loser... etc. It always makes me extremely sad seeing that little 'boop' with my friends name, knowing it isn't him, and never will be again. It makes me sad to play games without him in my ear making jokes and giving me tips and advice.. But at the same time I enjoy helping pass on what he taught me, and hopefully indirectly helping him teach his own son to become a decent guy and good man when he gets older. It brings me a bit of joy when he uses a technique or skill his dad taught me years back.. I know it isn't the same, but I feel like I can kind of understand how Trent feels and try to share my view on it with you. Losing a friend is always super hard, but being able to continue to share something with them can be a sort of catharsis and relief, and it can even be a happy thing. I'm sure Trent feels the same way, that if his cover could introduce the original to a whole new potential audience and show them how amazing David was... I'm sure it's absolutely worth it. My roommate had actually never heard it, liked the cover and looked up the original and she loves it! So Trent is sharing David's legacy in his own way, and I think that's pretty awesome!

Listening to this brought me to tears. For me, on a very personal level, that song holds pure concentrated magic within its notes. Starts off as a heartfelt Bowie instrumental, but then in comes something remarkably like Eno, perhaps a subtle callback to “Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks”, but not exactly just that, and none of it is a rehash. At the same time I can hear potential roots, I also hear the wonderful toll upon the bell of New Music. I am still stunned. Pure magic that went straight into my heart; that nearly never happens to me! Trent, Atticus, and Bowie, wherever you may be, I thank you for this…truly. 🙏🏼

Astonishing, the power of simple sounds. To move me to tears so quickly, to provoke such intense thoughts about David, his relationship with Trent, this beautiful tribute. This is why I don't own a tv, and only listen to music or read books. This is what's real folks. Love.

Some real love put into this one. Thanks guys, what a treat! Left me in a stupor for the remainder of the night - still in awe.

Love it’s following their recent theme of adding more sound as the song goes along. Usually distortion but here it’s more ambiance and it’s really beautiful.

David Bowie was the Man who fell to Earth to save Life on his dying home planet. Dr Manhattan was the man who fled Earth to Mars to create Life.

@@ScarecrOmega so he can create life in another galaxy. If you weren't so busy being smarmy, you'd realize you just gave Dr Manhattan's excuse for when he left Earth and went to Mars before the squid attack. At the end of the story he left with a renewed interest in life and wanting to create his own in another galaxy.

Watchmen easily became my favorite superhero series of all time and this song actually made me tear up, says a lot. Like..someone else said..like an almost religious awe. Beautiful, perfect. NiN never left.

Relevant, timely, and beautifully executed. And right now, it's free on the Roku Channel, and I wish more people would give it a chance.

Oh my god, I was hoping this would be out by today and I got my wish. I re watched the ending of the last episode over and over just to hear this cause it was just too good. If Trent & Atticus don't get award for this soundtrack im really going to be pissed off.

Perfectly represents the slow burn that is this show. Before we even notice, the damn thing is so hot it's glowing white and we ask "wait, wait... how did I get here?"
