Trent reznor is so cool they named an air conditioner after him, and so hot they also named space heaters after him

Lol no the company was owned by his grandad or his great grandfather i think and it was sold a long time ago to someone else, thats where it has its name

I worked in a shit hole called sumac engineering years ago that had a 'reznor' air conditioner in the cutting shop. The number of times i'd think to myself "i have found you can find happiness in slavery" as i endured day after day of the bitch politics and the bullshit of vanilla minds inside grown men stuck in dross factory life......

Damn Trent, you say this album was a commentary on what things might be like 15 years in the future and not rooted in 2007. 2022 is going to be a hoot.

Frankie FourFingers year zero is my second favorite nails album behind downward spiral. And I’m an old head too I’ve been there for the whole ride. So to have favorite albums that many years apart is something. Also this last trilogy of albums has woke me up again.

Not weird at all, fckn perfect record.
@tomarchanfel60305 жыл бұрын
Not weird by any means whatsoever. I did admittedly struggle with Bad Witch upon release I won't lie lol I think I was still in a state of grief myself over the loss of the Goblin king himself, David Bowie and found it difficult to hear my favourite artist adapt to a 'homage' of sorts. Then I took my ego out of the equation and realized that Trent was suffering more than I ever could at losing Bowie...he knew him personally after all. After that realization I found myself completely lacking my anxiety about its similarities to Black Star and embraced it as a complete tribute and if you will, non canonical addition to the Bowie Catalogue of sorts. In retrospect, Trent making his own interpretation of Bowie's next album is brave beyond measure and after embracing that...it has since become a far more favourable listening experience within the NIN catalogue. But yeah ..sorry...I waffled on abit there. But dont be silly dude...YZ is a masterstroke of narrative and musical expressionism. If anything, allot of people are 'weird' of they don't agree with you to an extent :) xxx

To think we're living in the Year Zero right now 😮 It's pretty much every bit as insane as you imagined Trent! Just in slightly different ways.

Being a newer fan at 22 Year Zero is some of his best and most powerful work. It’s terrifying how well it holds up and speaks to the current times of everything. Especially some parts of that old ARG they created to go with the album.

i keep coming back to this interview/video because when i first watched it, it had (and still does have) an ASMR effect on me. something about the way he speaks and the compression on his audio ... love it.

Trent's not only not stale, he's continuing to grow, with the times. It's so good to see this because my hearts in the same place his is, but more importantly than my individual heart, the world needs someone as brilliant an artist as him to help put that concept into focuss. Yah his old stuff and his new stuff SAK05, just kicks ass. This isn't an interview, this is a brief story of the concept of the album. and he does look like snape ahaha.

Wow, just coming off watching the 2000 interview where he was so high..this is such a dramatic difference. What a change. Good for him, fucking genius, sober and making the best music ever.

It's fantastic - even without knowing the concpet of it, you see how great it is as a protest album, though the painstaking detail to the concept is breathtaking. The music sounds like it's got influence from Nitzer Ebb, xotox, even Public Enemy

i listened to YZ when it first came out. It was the first NIN album i listened to and i had no idea what to make of it. it all sounded like white noise to me. Then a few years later after id listened to more nin records i finally listened to it for what it was, and I love it now. its a rare kind of album, i can now see how far my musical tastes have come.

Year Zero was pure genius. IMHO. A great concept album that had a GAME with it that literally pulled you into this alternate world. Hell the numbers and sites are still up and running. Do a Wiki Search on Year Zero Game and call the numbers listed. Freaked out a few friends with one last week. I hope he continues the plot like he says he will.

Trent is the man... he sees the future for what it really is... granted i dont fall in line with every notion of his, however, the man is a genius musically, and metaphysically. Music will be the forfront of revolution when the time comes. Art truely is resistance.

if you put the puzzle pieces together, reznor has explained numerous times that he has no idea how his music will sound, he just starts recording a bunch of random jam sessions, and later on he mixes it together and plays around with it. i dont know how this man's genius shows so well, but it sure does
@qjsolis16 жыл бұрын
Trent sounds like he's still the hyper-creative artist that he's always been. He doesn't sound "out of it" at all. He's just very intelligent and expresses his creative process for this album eloquently. He far from "sucks". Many artists wish they could be this successful. He's mature and has very worldly ideas and has a political and social commentary. He's way more intellectual than most give him credit for. Uber-creative!

i'm probably just a weirdo but i actually really like the way he speaks, it's really relaxing/soothing, which is a nice contrast to his aggressive and raw singing voice [both are great]. also, YZ is a nice departure showing his maturation and growth as far as its subject matter.
