im 14. and i was raised like this. if you disrespect your elders or talk back to your mama and your daddy. your gonna be set straight. its yes ma'am and yes sir. you shake hands. if not its just disrespectful. you do what you told even if you dont want to. you work hard for what you have and be greatful for it. you say grace before you eat. family is everythin, and you know you loved. i truly believe this is how it still oughta be comin from a 14 year old..

I met Trent about 6 years ago down in the Bahamas. He was such a nice guy. Humble too. I wish he had more exposure. This man is just as good if not better than some of the more popular artists. As I said when we met Trent,"Best of luck on your career. God Bless."

I relate to this song, because it is how it used to be. You grew up knowing the difference between right and wrong and paid a certain price for not learning it, with respect and a good sense of responsibility and self-accomplishment. Neighbors were more like family, not just "the people next door," and we counted on each other in a lot of different ways, even when we never asked if we could help. We just did. Where I live, it's still like that in ways. Our community watches out for and takes care of each other, but for many it sadly isn't that way. Thanks Trent. Great reminder.

You know, that's one thing i love about living in a small town. We have less than 2500 people. Everybody knows everybody. There is that small town feel. When you walk into the local diner, farmers are wearing green with their shit-kickers, old men bicker about who's the better quarterback, everyone has their own coffee cup behind the counter and when you walk in you walk behind the counter and pour yourself a cup of coffee... Long live good morales

Well let just start by sayin that im 52 and this song reflects how it was back then and im pissed at the kids of today thinkin that they're lives are so miserable and the lack of dicipline and respect for the older folk in this country!, but the blame cant be put completely on them cause the parents didnt raise them the way we were!!

Each verse is so true. Love his voice! Where is he now? Why isn't the radio playing his songs?
@sevenletter6960
@sevenletter6960 10 жыл бұрын
Because other artist's record companies pay more money to have their artists on the radio. This why music is bad on the radio. People are told what is good and they think it is good. They don't know what is good for them.

So very true. We as parents give our kids money and they are the ones buying the cds. So they set the pace. I used to take vacation to get to be home and watched the country awards show. Now I don't even take the time to watch. Treat has that unique voice and sings much better than most of the fluff do. I would think the country artists would band together and come up with there on stations and come up with new real country music. Don't get me wrong I love the old songs but we all have them and there's just so much Wayland and Willy one can stand. I am glad Willy saved a lot of the older songs from being destroyed but the stations don't play Mel Street, Gary Stewart, or Vern Gosdin very much. Miss their music!
