Allie, thank you for sharing about your post-partum depression. 46 years ago, I suffered for months after my child was born. But, like you, I didn't even realize what it was until I came out of it. But I DID come out of it and began to love every single minute of being a mom. I did not, however, have the guts to have another child and I do regret that. So, I hope you DO have the guts. Because you had depression with your first, does NOT mean you will with subsequent children. Leo had a difficult start and there was a lot causing your depression besides hormones. I just love Frank!!!! I am a Frankophile !!! Such a great guy! 😻❤️ yes postpartum Depression is a bear!!!!! But I only had it with my first child! It was not fun!!! Get help if you can…. When I saw you walking I was just wondering if you carry pepper spray or a gun? You never know when a wild animal could come out of the woods. I know you have your dogs but I would hate to even see one of them be harmed by another animal. I had something happened to me when I was younger and I'm so glad now that I do carry. You being willing to share about your struggle has helped more women than you'll probably ever know. I never had children, but I have lost my entire family over the years and when you were describing how hard it was for you to do a simple task, I suddenly saw myself. I've never considered myself to be a depressed person, but listening to your description of what you faced and seeing that from our eyes you seemed to be high functioning and fine, I now know that I too am dealing with something similar although not related to having a child. As you know, things may get more extreme in the future, weather wise. It may be a great idea to bury a French drain system under the man cave before gravel and concrete to evacuate any water that may be coming in and collecting under the floor. Allie I defrosted and cleaned out my freezer yesterday after watching this video. I had been putting it off for months as it's a surprinsgly big job and my energy levels and mood hasn't been the best lately. Welcome to the 5th season... Mud Season! It makes winter look good. 😅 On depression... well put Allie. I didn't recognize it either.. but I started to get suspicious when I struggled to unload the dish washer. I devised a method.... first I would put away the forks. Once I broke that inertia the spoons were easier. The trick is to start moving... and be KIND and patient with yourself.

You should consider grading around the house and garage, everything slopes toward the structures, install surface and sub-surface drainage to keep water away from the foundations .

@@gufredd9675 I thought of that until they take on another major project. A major addition to the back of the house and seeing all the water in the mountain above them is a major undertaking. His go too guy for guidance is not in the business' anymore. Trent needs to educate himself on proper foundation drainage if you his going for it himself. The guy he hired previously system didn't work. I admire Trent's work ethic but he needs to start calling Kevin's subs when he knows it is beyond his ability.

It's only a short building season when you take 5 times as long to do something over 3 times to get it right once principal. Great for KZbin monetary strategy but not the best when under real time constraints for building. You'll get it done. Christmas is your realistic time frame for your summer projects!

I know you are surrounded by trees, but are you sure you want to lose those particular ones? The shade the house and frame it so nice. Perhaps you can find an arborist that could help you ball up the roots so you can replant them when all the grading work is done.

Official beginning of summer Trent hit stuff with equipment. Dig a ditch behind the house install some corrugated drain pipe to drain the excess water like they do in farm fields. If there is that much water in the hillside you will need it at the base of the new foundation any way to prevent water from getting under the house and causing mold.

Allie you should be carrying side arm when going for a walk especially when wildlife predator are out hunting from winter hibernation. I have encounter Mountain lion up in the mountain and mother black bear with her cubs.

I saw Leo sign ‘again.’ Great job on the sign language. I taught sign language to my grandson so he could communicate before he learned to speak. It is a blessing to the child and to all the caregivers. My grandson didn’t start speaking until he was three but he could communicate with us just fine. 😀
