I actually know more than I indicated. I have played every brass instrument, some woodwind, some strings and some percussion. I have owned many, many of them, and some still.

@@DNKG669 mb I forgot he said Chinese. Most contrabass trombones have the single slide with attachment. Very few known brands like Miraphone or O’Malley carry double slides.

I was a trombone prodigy.......a true one. But I realized it held me back for so long. I'm now a professional whistler. After buzzing your lips all day for band, they're too numb to whistle properly. It held me back. All district. All state. Honors. Had it all. I'd rather whistle.

Tuba uses more air than flute, flute just naturally needs more air pushed across because it doesn’t go in the hole, contrabass trombone needs MUCH more air than a tuba or flute

@@TrentHamilton: of course it does rather depend on what's broken: I once had a client wanting a tiny dent removed from a slide bow, on an instrument he was selling: this would entail almost complete disassembly, a lot of hours, of skilled work, and the lacquer would be toast (I don't have the facilities to do a heat setting epoxy lacquer) Costs incurred would far outweigh the £20, or £30 increase in used value. I simply explained the above, and advised him to let the 'lady' wear her scars 😉
