It's actually not recommended to get suede wet. You WILL get water stains if you only treat the stain area. This is one reason he cleans the whole of both pairs of boots. If you want a water free method use hydrogen peroxide 3% solution and dab it on the suede, use a crepe suede brush for bringing the nap up again after. I prefer it to a brush with metal bristles as they can bend and hook into the suede and damage it

A couple questions: (1) I understand your preference of the Saphir Invulnar product over the Tarrago product to protect suede, given the need to periodically nourish the leather. Do you have any experience with the "Carbon Pro" product from Collonil? I have used this on my golf shoes with good results and I know that it, along with Apple Brande "Garde" is a popular choice for insanely expensive handbags. (2) It sounds as if I should consider the Tarrago product for a pair off full grain (Pittard's) leather golf shoes I have, given the application environment and its durability. However, periodically I like to give the shoes a good cleaning (Renovateur) and polish (Medaille D'Or 1925 Creme). Would the same issue apply? Suggestion for a follow up video: Figuring out how to best care for leather golf shoes seems a lot more confusing that caring for the leather in a fine pair of dress shoes. For example: The leather used (in this case one of Pittard's leathers **) in my Footjoy "Premier Series" golf shoes has been treated in the tanning/finishing process to bake water resistance right into the leather. It would seem counter intuitive to think that a water based cleaner/conditioner like Renovateur would do much good to condition the leather??? It would seem analogous to applying a conditioning cream to a genuine leather car seat that has an invisible layer of protection bonded to the surface of the leather. Not much good and more important to not use any cleaners that might abrade the coating. ** I suspect the leather used may be "Armortan/WR100X"
