HOLY MOLY WHAT THE EFFFFFFFF that thing is insanity. Must be a Polish airplane, oh wait! IT IS!! lol. WITH A CANADIAN ENGINE! EPPIIIIIICCCCC. I flew one Wilga 2000 when I was 17, just for a brief moment to feel what it's like to fly the tow plane that I always admired 200ft behind on a tow rope in a glider. A beautiful bird, made of Canadian and Polish parts married together with an American touch. Love it!

Holy crap. This video had so much packed into 11:37 minutes I need to watch it again. From Hey look, a sandbar that's never been landed on, lets fix that... to the most badass bush plane ever conceived, backing up and taking off and landing on a patch of grass the size of a (small) golf course green no less... Thanks for doing this...

Variable-pitch propeller. Runs the engine up to full power, holds it on the wheel brakes, puts positive pitch on the prop, and release the brakes. Max power, max pulling power from first movement.

I'm not really an airplane enthusiast but after watching the video on the Draco specs and this one of it flying I have to admit I'm incredibly impressed with the build and capabilities of this thing. It is THE hotrod of bush planes. If I flew this would be on my wish list for sure!

I just started watching your videos as I heard your name mentioned by P1D. I cant fly due to eye problems but my passion is aviation ever since I can remember as a little bot. My father worked for United Air Lines so I flew a lot as a passenger. When I was in Alaska last summer I saw many bush planes and sadly saw one go down in Anchorage. I think you pilots are a very special breed of human beings. Truly an elite group of amazing individuals, you have my utmost respect and admiration. So I live vicariously through all of you by sitting in front of my computer watching video after video. Those planes taking off and landing in a couple hundred feet is amazing. Thats what Bush is all about right. Gotta get into those hard to get into places but you guys do it with such class and style.

I'm lovin' this series! That is one SICK DRACO! I'm no pilot (yet) but it seems to me that DRACO embodies everything wrong about bush planes... it's BIG, heavy, has a jet engine... looks like a beast, until you see it fly. That is one graceful, beautiful bird.

@Mytyweav6 жыл бұрын
Hahaha... Yes, I can cruise at twice the speed at the same MPG that they are using BUT, I can't land as short nor on Un-Improved strips. The Tailwind has a completely Opposite mission. I have a Rans S7 Courier for flying with the "Low n Slow" guys. Honestly, the best of both worlds. Thanks Dave for the comment.
@davidduganne59396 жыл бұрын
Hi Fred! I shoulda said Tailwinds rule, too! Sounds like you have the perfect setup. Trent's videos highlighting the KF, Highlander, Rans et al, have really opened my eyes to the capabilities of these great planes. The Rans' background (company started by a cyclist/builder) gives it some extra karma points---notice my avatar! Fly safe, high or low, fast or slow!!

Trent, I want to thank you for putting up these videos. I've always been in love with flying, I've been flying on and off since 2006 "trying" to get my pilots license but I've just been letting other things get in the way. Stumbling across your videos with Ty and all the other guys just finally pushed me over the edge and I've decided to go and finally work towards getting my license. I had a bias toward LSA/Bushplanes but your channel helped make me realize what I love, and that's going low and slow. I hope this finds you well, and I hope you guys enjoy Oshkosh. Tripped on these various "cowboy" vids recently, who are you guys? Wilgas are one of my favorite planes. I owned and flew both 1/4 scale and 1/3 scale R/C models of the Wilga 35 (tho older radial engine model), and they were a hoot. I could take off climb out to 100 feet dump throttle point down pull full flaps and land where I took off in front of me. Turbo conversion on the 2000 is awesome, didn't realize they had already stopped production of that. As a note the 35 Wilga had a counter clockwise rotation, so on take off rudder input was reversed, quite a surprise if you didn't see it coming. A friend took me up for a ride once.
