Are you sure you didn't pay for a ticket to Hawaii? :) ATC sure routed you FAR west over the Pacific, the shoreline getting farther and farther! Maybe ATC was trying to keep you away from LAX flights. Anyway, beautiful coastline just after liftoff. Was this one of your day trips?

Yeah, I was a little surprised we climbed all the way out there myself! And yes, this was a day trip to visit family. I wasn’t planning on flying out of SBA, but the opportunity presented itself for a new airport and I decided to take advantage of it!
