One huge reason to choose the Treq cockpit, especially the Treq One, is the small footprint. It's only 119 X 58 X 67 cm, which is significantly shorter than other alu profile rigs. This makes it even shorter than something like a TR8 Pro for example. It's not the prettiest thing, but the black and blue make the alu profiles look rather classy imo.

Love your reviews Karl, but have seen a few chassis tests where your lush thick carpet muddies the water a bit on flex. I reckon if you could stick a sheet of ply under it (or even a couple 2x4s going laterally) you'd be able to eliminate a lot of the carpet flex. Anyway, I watched this video to hear your thoughts on how comfortable the seat is and you answered all my questions there 👍 Thanks

Nice review as always. Angled profile rigs are form over function. When the profile is angled, and you’re adjusting for height, you’re also moving front and back.

They`re extremely confortable tho. it's a bit of a compromise that you have to re adjust your set distance and pedal but there's back and fort adjustments for wheel distance too you can add.

I’m in the market for a rig. I had an ASR3 and sold everything a while back because I was to busy to find time to race. After a little regret I’ve decided to build another one. I liked the idea of this rig but the seat cost just killed it for me. I’m going to keep on looking.

Another solid review Karl, thanks for your effort. Still indecisive on what rig to get sooner or later. Need it to be compact, sturdy and comfortable seat. Edging towards the prime light. Keep it going. Subbed (took me a year - sorry about that)

Hi, nice video, great job as always 👍. going slightly off topic, I state that I am not a connoisseur and I'm new to the sim racing world, if you want to review other racing cockpits in the future I came across the Monkeydriver Seat which has beautiful lines and looks very interesting, but i never test it so...(😂). Again great video.

Good review Karl. Nice to see more companies getting involved. I've got the NLR F-GT Elite which looks to do the same with less of the negatives by the seem of it, all with the benefit of being able to switch to a GT position or anywhere in between. It's obviously more expensive but if people are looking at this for around a grand and for £850 you can get the F-GT Elite wheel plate version, then it's just the price of the seat that is going to be the real difference.

Just discovered your videos and find the reviews you do absolutely brilliant and learned a lot about the products that i am thinking of getting... Def subscribing. Asking for advice from yourself or anybody that reads this, I am buying a t300rs GT and wondered what would be the best cockpit around £200? Looking at GT lite and Playseat challenge atm.. gonna add im 6ft 2 in case that makes a difference
@KarlGosling
@KarlGosling Жыл бұрын
For £200 you are a little limited, a fold away cockpit like the PSC may be your best bet, up from that would be something like the GT Omega ART.

The bars that go out to the pedal deck need to be 3 channel and they gotta use 4 bolt corner brackets there IMO. That attachment seems like a big weak point which is shown by the flex.

Doesn't look terrible for the price, but the seat being half the cost seems kinda egregious. It's all just simple jet or torch cut steel pieces minus the back piece with the brake bends in it. IDK I feel it could be at least 50 euros cheaper.

Straight away i am not comfortable with the seat. if i was getting the cockpit i would change the seat, with a more better and reliable forumla seat. But the rest of it does looks good. The flex is not very good and it quite a bit of flex on the pedal mount this is something that needs to change.

Excellent review Karl, out of interest will you be reviewing the Cammus C5? I’m at the stage of possibly upgrading my belt driven wheel now to the joys of probably treading the used DD ownership route 😬 One thing that concerns me though is most of these DD setups seem to have one big ass base which with my current used GT Omega Art rig with your flex braces idea all fitted works well enough with my belt wheel but it’s been a mission to get my seating, steering and pedal position to be as comfortable as possible and a DD setup might cause even more headaches hence I’ve got one eye on that C5 setup as it’s ergonomics look far more suitable 🤔
@KarlGosling
@KarlGosling Жыл бұрын
Cammus stuff is terrible and should be avoided, the last unit I had almost caught fire a couple of months after the review, the BT connection stopped working then there was a cooling fan missing and thermal pasted came oozing out the back along with a nice burning smell at which point the unit was dead.

Hey Karl! Sorry to go off topic, but I've seen this guy that makes handbrakes for the Xbox and PS for the G920/G29, SimRTec. It has his own website and youtube channel. I think it would be interesting if you made a video about it. I know that you don't have any modern console, but it works in the PS4 an XB One, and probably you can get one of those fairly easly or cheap. The handbrakes go for less than 50 pounds (DIY) up to 130 depending on your preferences and mounting options. Great work as always
