As someone who was a single mom, I applaud you for not talking bad about the father of your child...regardless of what you think of him, he’s her father and she can make her decision about him when she gets old enough....

I admire the fact that you refrain from talking bad about Sydney’s father in front of her. My father has made a lot of bad decisions and has never been in my life. I’m so thankful that my mother chose to never bash him in front of me. His absence from my life spoke for itself. I never needed anyone to make that worse and rub it in. Single Moms are so unbelievably strong! I’m proud of you for being so strong and level-headed for Sydney.

I am not kidding this just made me love your channel a million times more. My parents were in a terrible divorce and the hands down worst thing from my perspective of being a child was when other people (or my other parent) would talk bad about my mom or dad. I agree fake happiness as much as you can when it comes to your kids. ❤️❤️❤️you’re an amazing mom!!

Your advice is amazing! My first sons dad has never been there since i was 4 months pregnant. Hes 8 now and as he got older i found myself lost about to explain things to him. I never wanted to tell my son that his dad was a pile of crap so i never said anything. I did go to a counselor when he was in kinder for some behavior stuff he was dealing with and that came up. Helped me a ton to find the right words and way to say it! By that time i was seeing someone else and had been for 2 years but i chose to let him decide when or if he wanted to call him dad. It all came together but it all takes time! My now husband adopted him in April. Being a single mom is so hard to balance life, work and time with your baby/child. Takes a lot of prayer!!

I’ve been on my own since my pregnancy. I don’t talk about my son’s dad because I don’t know what to say - he’s almost 5 now. It bothers me a lot when strangers ask him where his dad is - people are so rude!!!! He usually says my dad lives in another city. Which is basically all he knows. We talk about our Heavenly Father. Idk I keep holding onto hope that someone will come to love my son because it’s so unfair. He’s so loving and sweet and deserves so much

I became a single mom in January when my husband left me for another woman when my son was 2 and daughter was 3 months old. I just started seeking out other single moms because I really need the support on how to do this. My kids dad gets them one or two nights a week now, but I hate it because he lives with the woman he left me for and it feels like a slap in the face that my kids stay with the woman who helped ruin my marriage.

Amen girl!! I am 31 and I had my daughter at 22. There was a lot that happened with her "sperm donor" ... sorry but true! He hasn't seen her since she was 2 weeks old. Not my doing...but it happened. I met my husband when she was 4. He was everything I hoped and prayed for. I was so young but I did it. No matter what, I did it...for her. Now married with a 2 year old boy and we couldn't be any happier. Kendyll loves her daddy. A dad has to be there for the child, physically and emotionally. Just like a mother. Great video girl.

Wow looking at y'all looks like none of ye have been in the situation, hence talking trash. There are some irresponsible women, yes. But there are also those who wholeheartedly believe the man they're with will be a good father and it was clear they both know the risks and are in it for the long haul. But sometimes the perception and reality don't match and the actual birth and feeling of responsibility scares the guy. Some leave for good, some come around after a while. I was lucky as mine did and is really a loving dad. But y'all should stop talking smack because nobody is going into a relationship to intentionally end up being a single mum...

The stigma of being a single mom. She’s the one there everyday, she kisses all the boo-boos, helps with all the homework, makes all the tough decisions and sacrifices what she needs to do. The dad? He’s too busy on Tinder to see his child. But she’s the one who’s looked down on. She’s the one who made the ‘bad decision’. But abortion? You’re evil! And a murderer! Keep the baby? You better breastfeed! It’s what’s best! But eww don’t do it in public!! Also do it for a year! Also they changed it to two years now! Welfare to help because the dad isn’t around? Get a better job you bum. No better jobs available? Should have stayed with the father. He didn’t stick around? Hmm... still your bad decision. All your fault. The dad’s fine. I’m not a single mom but this is how I see it

I love your videos soo much! I love the way you think , i think exactly the same . My baby daddy commited suicide almost 1 year ago. I went through a dark road alot of counselling. Im only 23 years old and alot of people ask me how i do it. I pay everything myself i never rely on anyone and im still not done grieving but, like you said... You just do it! My mom put us through alot of things growing up.. She has BPD and i always said i wouldn't do to my kids what she did to us. ( act all crazy). I could chosen drugs or drinking to numb the pain of loosing my baby daddy ( boyfriend of 4 years) but i decided to stay strong and get help. I had suicidal thougths myself and I knew drugs and drinking wern't the answer. Thats what my baby daddy did and it ended up in him taking his own life. Its amazing the strenght our children give us to get through all of this. My son saved my life , he is the reason if fight my way through life eachday. He never sees me cry i always try to hold it until he is sleeping. I try to stay positive even though it is not easy. When i hear moms complain about their baby daddy... Guhhh.. It gets me soo angry because at least they have one .. My kid doesnt all he knows is mommy and my family. I have to find out a way to explain to him later how his daddy died because i know the day will come. But for now he's little. I have a picture of his daddy in his room on a wall full of stars. We kiss him goodnight each night. I will never ever speak any bad to my child about his father because he was ill and needed help. I promised him to only talk good about him to our son. Im not such a religious person either. But i do believe there is life after death for sure. So i pray alot and it helps me to get through alot. My faith has grew alot since his death. I do thank life everyday though for what i have. My son. My home i can afford by myself even if its an apartment, and small things in life that make me happy. I believe God gave me my son to help me through all of this. 6 months after his daddy passed.. My brother also commited suicide. If Tyler(my son) wern't here lord knows how i would of gotten through this, cause i dont even know. You are right on being our childrens rock. Im the only parent Tyler has and there is no way i will ever let him down. Even if its to hard to handle... I'll always keep pushing and try to be positive and show him the beautiful things in life. Ill be the best mom he could ever ask for ❤ we are strong us momma's. Were all super mamma's ! Sorry for long text 🙊 your honestly my favorite youtube mommy and trust me i watch alot... But your the best 😘

I commend you so much for this!! I’m almost 32 years old with a 7 month old and another coming in March. I am not a single mom but was raised by my grandparents. My mom to this day, still talks badly about my dad, my grandparents, pretty much anyone that was involved in my life growing up. Her and I have never had a good relationship for multiple reasons but I completely agree it is NEVER okay to talk poorly about a parent or guardian figure or anyone that is important in your child’s life to your child or in front of your child or to anyone else that could potentially talk to your child about it.

I have so much respect for you! Your positivity and outlook on life and how you’re handling everything for Sydney is refreshing to hear, esp bc there is so much oversharing and immaturity and drama out there! Your doing an amazing job with KZbin and with Sydney. Keep it up mama!

Wow, I respect that you want to keep it private. I was hoping for a reason why y'all split up but this made me realize that whatever the reason is won't change what I think of you and your life story. I actually respect you more for not "spilling the tea" and creating drama!

I totally agree. You should never talk badly about someone in front of children when it could taint them or affect them badly. My son is my world and I try my hardest to provide everything for him! We just live life as much as we can and that's all we can do.

Hi! I'm also a single mom. Congrats on how you manage your energy levels! My baby is 5 months now and my husband had a double life for like 2 years with another woman. Every single day I try to be grateful for those little things you mention as well. It's very difficult but you have to stay positive for your baby as you say. I've lived more than 10 years abroad with my husband and now back in my country I feel like I'm a stranger but without my family support I cannot deal right now so that's why I'm back in my home country.

I couldn’t agree with you more! Coming from a split home myself and having gone through a parent talking poorly about the other, it really wasn’t good for my sister or I and in the end it backfired on the parent that was being bitter. You are doing such a good job as a single momma! Keep it up!

Wow! I am in this exact situation but with a 5 year old and a 1 year old. Despite my difficult relationship with their father I have never ever talked bad about him infront of them. The complete opposite, I try to teach them to love and respect him. If we love our children we shouldn't hurt them by destroying the image of their parent. Good job!

I 100% agree with your decision not to air things about Sydney's Dad. I split with my husband when my son was 4 months old and it was a very messy situation with lots of hurt on my side. My family were/are so so angry at him and wanted me to tell my son exactly how he treated me when he was old enough but have refused. That was my story...my son sees his Dad and enjoys time with him, although he made his own decision not to sleep over at his house. I think this shows that he loves him but isnt 100% comfortable with him and he made that himself...not because I told him things about his Dad. He is now 9 and he still doesnt know much about my relationship with his Dad. There may come a time when I need to answer questions and I will in an age friendly way as much as I can but I won't emotionally dump on my child to spite my ex (however much I personally dislike him).

Thank you for this video! I’m not a single mom but the beginning of the video talking about just dealing with mom life one day at a time and the bad will end helped me so much. June 19th my first baby was born and she’s premature and is in the NICU. It’s killing me wanting to get her home especially since I’m struggling with postpartum depression and this made me feel so much better!

I admire what you did here. I want you to know that I got to know my dad when I was an adult and it’s awesome that you’re going to let Sydney form her own opinions about her dad. That’s what I did. She will make up her own mind. Very mature of you and (I think) it will be a great learning experience for her - speaking from experience there. I’m also a very private person and also try to be very positive. People seem to be extremely interested in others who choose to keep private life just that. I think it’s a hard concept for some people. I’ll continue to watch, keep on going!

I'm glad that you've chosen to keep certain things private. It's clearly been the best decision for your daughter and your own peace of mind. So my personal story: My mom and sperm donor of a father broke up before I was born and still adored each other. They never spoke negatively about each other, and spoke very positively of one another sometimes. I was incredibly conflicted with my growing hatred toward my abusive deadbeat "father" because of my mom's praise of him. Since he was "such a good man", I wondered if his lack of presence and financial or emotional contribution were fine, or if the punishments were because I must have been the problem. I absolutely agree with not going out of your way to bash their other parent; but I learned that a parent giving unearned praise can cause damage as well. I'm simply a child of a single parent, not a parent myself; so I'm not trying to act like I know better than any of you on how to handle this very delicate situation. To the wonderful single parents out there, I appreciate you ❤

🙌 yesss... totally agree. I must admit I was wondering the same but I totally got it. Plus even though you are a KZbinr doesn't mean every one owns your life and you have to gives us 100% of your life. No, you are a creator and ppl must respect your personal life. Amen... honey think about that little angle before anyone else. ✌😊

Hi Hayley! I just subbed to your channel after watching this vid. Let me tell you....I am 100% with you on this. I am also a single mum since my son was 3 months old (he's now 10 months as of Feb 2019) and I'll be turning 32 in March. He's also a 'wild child' Lol. You're absolutely right, it's nobody's business but yours and the father's and however I feel about my son's dad, I wouldn't ever stop him having a good relationship with my boy or comment negatively to others. I just say it was a bad situation. You're so amazing and strong and I'm so grateful to find you on KZbin! I've been having a hard time but it's good to know I'm not alone and that we can persevere together on this, all of us! :-) x

I’m a 26 year old single mom since my son was 9 months old and he’s 2 years now. I live by not talking bad or about his father he will know who he is when he gets to that age. And he will make his own opinions on him. I even tell my mom not to bring up his name or say anything rude about him. But seriously props on being a single mom. It’s not easy but it does get better in the long run !
