Also, I want to applaud how productive you are! I’m a stay at home mom to a 16 month old and my husband works. I don’t know how you take care of Sydney, work on different projects/KZbin, take care of your house, do homeschool and still have time to get ready in the mornings! You are a great roll model to any moms!

Girl sometimes my house is a wreck, sometimes my kid watches too much tv, sometimes I’m on my phone way too much & we have Mac n cheese for dinner twice a week. It’s all about balance & giving yourself grace. The more I take care of myself, the more energy & productive I am 💗 You take care of you mama!

Umm, apple cider doughnuts. I need that early morning time to myself, too, without having to start work or get fixed-up for the day. Does Sydney have views yet of how she wants her hair done: like a ponytail one day and pigtails the next and a bun on another day? Good that there's not constant TV or screen time when Sydney eats breakfast alone, but there may be music. It's better for her brain to not be constantly assaulted by the images others create for her. Because music is mathematical, it is good for her mind. Decent music, not advertising ditties. It's so lovely you have these nice, calm mornings together. How wonderful that you share these superb rituals of time together that are so important to her security and well-being. And she has such a delightful window to the outside in her playroom, so she's not totally disconnected from nature even in bad weather. Sequencing and finding patterns are crucial.

🤗 Way to go! In early childhood education we believe exploitation is the best way to learn for 2-3 year olds. When we do use a “curriculum” it usually focuses on language, social-emotional and motor skill development. Typically we use a lot of singing, dancing and play to work on those skills. So, I love it when I see parents taking that approach at home. Imagination and problem solving are things that aren’t as common or encouraged anymore. It warms my heart to see young kids playing with open ended toys, doing art and reading silly stories. Those are sooooo important to foster imagination and problem solving in children.

LOVE these ideas. I have started what I'm calling "lite preschool" because I have an almost 3 year old who WANTED to learn early on so she knows all the things and an almost 2 year old who doesn't care to know any of it so I'm taking the next few months to try and just do a little bit three days a week with sensory / science stuff the other days and once the 2 year old is a little more interested we are going to do something like this. I appreciate the info!

Was that small brush that you used on your daughter in getting her ready that detangler brush? I have my 4 year old over a few days a week and her hair gets tangled badly. I’ve bought a detangler spray, but it’s still a chore for me to brush her long hair. That looks like a brush someone recommended.

You’re extremely lucky! My son is hyper and jumps off the furniture and bounces off the walls in the morning and all day every day. I can barely do anything! He likes to destroy everything too I cannot go to the other room and my eyes not be on him for one Second because he will get into trouble. How do you have such a calm daughter that’s not bouncing off the walls and will just sit there and eat ? my son prefers me to feed him and he’s 3 1/2.
