I was always a night owl and absolutely NOT a morning person- until having kids! My parents reminded me recently how I used to wake up at 12pm some days as a teen and college kid 😂 and now I've made it my mission to wake up at 5am and start my day with prayer and praising God because it completely changes my entire attitude towards the day! It reminds me why I've decided to stay home, why I've taken on homeschooling my 4 year old, and grounds me in my identity in Christ 🙌 Thank you Delilah for your videos that constantly radiate the love of Jesus in the way you love your husband and children.

Lucky you . I'm a morning person but since my child has been born and she doesn't want to fall asleep or I have to wake up couple of times at night I just don't have any power to wake up as I always did :(
@CorrinaRoseWrites
@CorrinaRoseWrites Жыл бұрын
@@Hambar7 How old is she? It does get better! My oldest was a great sleeper from the start, but my youngest who is two now was always the worst sleeper. She is such a light sleeper even with white noise going on, but I think it's mostly due to her being SO clingy with me. Even at her age now, she still wakes up at least 2 or 3 times at night to check if I'm in the room (she sleeps in my room in her own bed 😂) so the 5am wake up is tough, but it's worth it to me.

Waking up earlier than my daughter has honestly been the best decision I ever made, my day goes smoother, mornings are so much more calmer. This morning I heard the birds chirping and it was so beautiful to listen to. I wish I started doing this when my baby was still sleeping through the night and waking up at 9 am when she was younger 🤣 I would have had HOURS to myself, now I only have a good hour if I'm lucky 😭✨ Sending you so much love Delilah, thank you for being the best friend every mother needs

I do this too. I get up at 4am to excessive meditate and shower alone before anyone knows I’m awake. It’s such a blessing for my mental health

@@guidedbysunshine333 Right?!! 🤍 At the start of my postpartum I used to be scared to wake up early because if I don't get enough sleep I'd get really bad anxiety attacks (almost called the ambulance a few times bc i thought it was a heart attack 🫠), looking back now maybe if I did do it my anxiety wouldn't have been as bad 😭

Oh congratulations! It’s such a wild time of life the first 6 months of your first born so keeping expectations simple is a great option…. I found everything settles so much 6 months in when the sleep and naps start becoming a bit more consistent and we’re not soooo exhausted anymore! My little one is 16 months now and gosh it gets easier, I wish someone had told me that when I was 2 months PP! Xxx ps you’re doing great xx

I'm 2 months PP with my 4th. I'd love to get up early but my baby wakes. E up through the night so I need to get sleep when I can get it. I've been down this road before, so I'll plan to get up early when he's a bit older and sleeping better. ☺️

I’m lucky my partner is a morning person so he gets up at 5:30am to start his day and then look after our son when he wakes up (we cosleep), while I sleep in until 7/8am. My partner gets a solid night of sleep as I attend to any night waking and feeding, so this works best for us. I couldn’t survive otherwise! I’m a night owl and love the hours I get to myself before going to bed. They are the most relaxing and peaceful - no work, no responsibilities, just the quiet of the night. I read, knit while watching TV, write, stretch and wind down before bed.

Good morning! It's currently 5:28am here in Montreal and I'm awake purely because I had to pump after my baby woke to eat round 4am. I can hear the crickets outside still, the sun hasn't come up yet but since I'm awake I may as well start my day. I've watched a few of your morning routine videos and never thought I could feel "awake" at this hour, but having a second baby sure makes getting up and staying up easier. Thanks for the calming reminder that we need to make and take the time for ourselves.

I’ve always been a morning girl but since having my 13m old son (since I do night feeds and wake ups) my husband gets up with him anywhere from 6-7 am and I get to sleep in a little extra (as he also works from home). I would love to get back to 5 am wake ups to have that me time again, but we’re due with our daughter in less than 2 months! In due time I’ll get back to that routine, but for now I’m just blessed and thankful for our growing family & supportive husband 🤍❤️

I used to look at these videos with wonderment and awe. I strived for this forcing myself to go to bed early months on end forcing myself to get up early for months. Trying this for multiple periods of my life and thinking if I kept with it my circadian rhythm would just adjust. As I have grown older I have realized that I am not cut out of for this lifestyle and that it is in my blood to be a night owl. My parents and my siblings are. Sesh my mom stays up till 2 in the morning every night at 70 years old. Society forces this life so I do it but I am not made for it and that's okay. Funny thing is my daughter wakes up early so even if I did I would have all but an hour to myself if I was a morning person but I have time to myself from 8:30-11:30 to myself every night being a night owl. I don't know how parents do it that are morning people cause most kids are also morning people and they seem to have significantly less time to themselves.
