It’s very relaxing watching these kinds of videos! I hope to also become a train driver once I reach the age

I’m glad you like these videos. Regarding working as a train driver, it would be a good idea to chat to some train drivers and they may tell you what they like and don’t like about the job.

It's a very good video 😊 A nice change from the daytime ones.

I have more of these, but on some lines, there is absolutely nothing to see apart from the track ahead. Nevertheless I will make sure I do more.

A small correction. 01:16 & 01:40 are 65km/h signals, not 40km/h. The bright white light that can't be read in this video is an illuminated "65". Indicating high speed points.

Melbourne does things the complicated way with signals. Sydney simply puts a speed board near each junction 😄

Why were there flashing lights saying stop at the end of the video at werribee?
@tressteleg1 Жыл бұрын
Can’t you guess? The line ahead is closed to all traffic.
@justinwright4833 Жыл бұрын
@@tressteleg1 well obviously but why?
@tressteleg1 Жыл бұрын
@justinwright4833 I don’t know. And you would think that freight trains to Geelong would go that way as it is shorter than via Sunshine. Maybe the government thought they would save money by closing the few kilometres to the junction, if it’s still there. Maybe they don’t want the risk of electric trains running beyond the wires. I don’t live in Victoria so I can’t find out any more easily than you could.

The next level crossing was being removed so all tracks had been cut @justinwright4833 @tressteleg1

Thanks for your local knowledge. That certainly would make sense.

3:28 I see you've mentioned the speed limit as 115. Out of genuine curiosity, do you ever reach those speeds? Edit: Okay. Looking at about 4:50-ish, I think you do get close to that...
@tressteleg1 Жыл бұрын
Well I am not a train driver, but my friend tells me that Comeng trains struggle trying to get anywhere near that speed, but the new Trains can.

It's actually the fastest section on the Melbourne metropolitan system
@tressteleg16 ай бұрын
Yes it is a good fast section and I think a few parts of the Sunbury line are pretty slick too.
@XanCalGil6 ай бұрын
The section between Sunshine and Tottenham is pretty fast, like Newport - Laverton, it's a long way between stations

@@XanCalGil Long and straight is all you need, while gentle undulations can help a lot.

So why is this person going to Werribee when there’s no stabling yard there 🤔🥴
@Ryzi03 Жыл бұрын
It looks like it's actually early morning by the clocks at the stations, 05:22 as we arrived into Werribee. I'd assume it'd form the 05:39 Flinders Street service
@tressteleg1 Жыл бұрын
Pretty obvious to me, too! We had to wait a short time for the train ahead to depart Werribee with some early morning workers.
