ÉTRETAT | Is it worth the hype?!

We've been trying to get here for so long! Étretat is probably one of the most famous places in Normandie and is rather busy, especially on a sunny day! Now that we've FINALLY MADE IT here, we can share our findings! In this episode we go on a tour of Étretat, explore the world-famous white cliffs or falaises (as we call them here); we've literally ran from one side of the beach to the other to see as much as we could in the few hours we had in Étretat! Oh, and the weather was absolutely fantastic, so that's a definite PLUS!

Hello Anton ans Sinan ! ther is a little charming village between Etretat and Fecamp : Yport. and there is a marvellous trip on the top of the cliff, between Etretat and Yport, and you can see "le roc Vaudieu", and "l'aiguille de Belval", and you can discover "les valeuses" in Etigue and Vaucottes.

I was there with friends two years ago. We set off from Monchengladbach in Germany with a camper trailer and parked at Camping Municipal d'Étretat. It was a beautiful place, and I hope to visit it again.

Oh yes people so swim there, even though La Manche is crazy powerful! And yes, Anton was so set on getting there, we ended up being there 🤷🏻‍♂️ if you ever come to France, this place is awesome!

Thank you! We’d say end of September should be getting a little cooler, but not by a lot. We’d definitely recommend having an umbrella with you though, as it could rain. Normandie is know for its rains.

That’s the coast of Le Havre. It’s a city that’s just nearby and is incredible for it’s unusual architecture. The whole of downtown is classified as UNESCO site. We have a video from there: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4imhpSji6mCiZY

Thank you for your comment. You've got several options to get there. Since Étretat does not have a train connection, you can either get there from Fécamp (a really chilled out beach town) or Le Havre (bigger city with very interesting architecture). The buses are very affordable and the bus services are regular from both towns. We've done episodes from both locations, you are welcome to check them out: Fécamp: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWicZ2CglKmlosk Le Havre: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4imhpSji6mCiZY We recommend just picking one for a weekend and take the train there from Paris. Once arrived, the bus info is available at the tourism offices in Fécamp and Le Havre. They usually speak English there too. Maps work perfectly, so you can get to the tourism office without issues. If you speak French, you can just check out the local transport network via their website. www.transports-lia.fr Of course, there are direct bus options from Paris to Étretat, but we think it would be tiring to go there for a one-day trip as it's far. Plus, you really have some amazing locations to visit around. We will definitely make another video should we go on another trip there. Hope this info helps 😊

Salut! We took ligne 13, it runs from Le Havre and you can catch it from several stops within the city. It's frequent as well. Here is the link to the company running it. Just choose the direction under the line number and then it would ask you for a date and time.
