Ren wanted Seven Sins to reflect his illness, the struggles and he paints us a picture of where his head was, his thoughts and fears that lead him up to this point. The beginning is spoken in Welsh & is kind of a living eulogy, Loosely translated from Welsh he says: sickness is my teacher it broke my smile my bones feel old here lays Ren's body

That smoke where the bird impact happens (intro) is so accurate! A bird flew into our brand new replaced large east-facing windows one morning. Huge BANG downstairs. Our eyes popped open! We all ran to see... The dust print the bird left on the window was identical to the intro impact smoke with one additional thing, the birds head turned to the side. That was years ago, but recently I showed the intro to my mom and she loved how perfect it was. You breakdowns are so great to watch. Two heads better than one is also what Ren tried to show all of us with his riddle game. Lets apply the hivemind to better our world .

Best breakdown on this song that I’ve watched. I think as human beings we have more in common that most don’t or refuse realize. Doubting our faith, self doubt, learning from our mistakes and the lessons we pass on are just a few examples of the human condition.

Ren's said that he isn't religious, like most Brits but that he enjoys using religious imagery, from all religions, to illustrate his meaning. A song titled 'Seven Sins' is always going to be focused on Christian imagery though. In other songs he's employed Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist imagey. However coming from a country that has a Christian past and where there's a state Christian religion, with the monarch as head of the Anglican church, where bishops have automatic seats in the Upper House of Parliament and where certain tv and radio channels have to have a certain amount of Christian religious programming, by law... then Christian imagery is obviously going to have a larger creative influence on Ren than other religions. In fact it's not just Britain, most of Europe, except for Poland and a couple of the Balkan states is largely non religious. In fact, if someone comes across as over religious, always talking about god/s, it's seen as a little strange. Very different from the US. :)

Transitions !! Starts out singing in Welsh to church rhythms. He then transitions into rap seamlessly. Then it is on to Latin sounds with "Lights".... Change ups weaving in and out of each other, never clashing. Ren somehow makes it all make sense !! "His own Lane" !! Music will never be the same, now that he has arrived !

My son has epilepsy, he's 14, and also has cerebral palsy. he had a fit in the bath. It was the most horrendous thing iv ever dealt with. He was aware of what was going on but couldn't do anything about it. The fear in his eyes was my worst nightmare. I had to pretend i was calm and soothed him, but inside, i was absolutely losing my shit

Ren was in constant, chronic pain, without a break, for over 7 years! He's still in near constant pain and it's frequently chronic. He's effectively lived with constant, unrelenting pain for 13 years!

Deep, thoughtful reaction -- I love hearing your wisdom, and the glimpses of what you've been through that helped you piece together that wisdom. And like you said, a lot of it can't be taught, you have to acquire it through the challenges you face in life. (but I think we're always allowed to give ourselves space to say "this challenge sucks, take it away, I don't want the lessons it will teach me, this isn't fair, i don't deserve this."
